Love your aircraft, but found a strange one today.
Looking (for the first time I can remember) at the"wind" display on the 727 INS, there was the same number - the wind speed - in both the left and right displays, eg. FS says wind is 174/16, INS says the wind is 16/16. Numbers change but remain equal to each other as the wind changes. INS seems to work perfectly otherwise.
The 707's INS shows the correct result, and re-installing the 727 didn't help. Any ideas?

INS NAV is probasbly the only feature of all of the HJG supplied panels (with the exception of the BAE 146 panel/s generally) that I'm not totally familiar with. There shouldn't be any issure such as you've described .... considering the INS fitted into our iNS NAV B727 panels mirrors that fitted in each of our INS NAV equipped B707, CV990, DC8, and L1011 panels .... and therefore functions in precisely the same manner. An uninstall/reinstall shouldn't be necessaty. Try the following link .... to see if there's any useful imformation there .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=3449Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi: I would not bet my life on the weather model of FS. If you fly with actual weather updates (every 15 minutes) and winds aloft active easily it can last some minutes up to the INS calculates via drift from where the wind comes now.

No, I don't think it's an FS weather issue and I'm pretty well used to CIVA, and the HJG INS is quite similar.
The 707 INS doesn't have this problem. Switching aircraft in the same position (must be in the air for the wind readout to function) gives the correct result with the 707, the wrong one with the 727. Screenies attached.
Just for curiosity if nothing else, can anybody else confirm this behaviour?

Again .... there shouldn't be such a problem .... considering the same INS unit programming is represened within each of those panels equipped with it.
The B727 INS panels have been available so some 2 years now .... and the B707 INS panels even longer than that .... BUT .... in respect of the B727's this's the first such commentary I recall .
So far as I'm aware .... only the AP related programming (which the INS utlizes) is different between each of these INS equipped aircraft type panels
