I installed the the DC8-50 last night.
Is there anyway to get the nose wheel steering to turn on taxing around?.
I wonder if its a setting or values in the aircraft.cfg?.
Thanks for any assistance

Just tried the DC-8-50. The nose wheel steering worked OK for me.( I am using rudder pedals.)
Remember that you have to actually be moving forward a bit before the NW steering can turn, and you will get a deflection of about 45* maximum.

Make sure the YAW DAMPER is selected "OFF". I believe there is a "known issue" in regard to the turning axis (animation) of the NG and which, from memory, implicates the DC8-62 and DC8 72 in particular. The DC8 63 and 73 versions may also be implicated too, but, I can't confirm that .... at this time. So far as I'm aware .... everything else .... from DC8 SHIP ONE 1959 through DC8-61 and including the DC8-71 too .... are all fine. We've not been able to completely resolve this particular issue (if what you're reporting is indeed the same one) .... though George, and I, have both tried in the past. It may be something implicated by the model/s .... I think Mark C AKL/NZ

Most of my numerous other planes I have. Some nose wheel steering works, and some don't.A lot of my other planes. When engines are running, when I start to move left or right, the nose wheels turn.In my case it's freeware planes. It's probably the author that put the plane out,in numerous cases.
Your 727's all work as advertised.I don't set anything up,after I start engines.I just taxi out.I guess it's another stickler with the DC8's.I'm not overly woried about it,by any means.I just thought I'd mention it.

Just a minor technicality in respect of the B727's .... Like the BAe 146's/ARJ's, CV990's, CARAVELLE's, and L1011's .... we/HJG .... didn't produce those models. We only inherited and host them here "by consent". It's not essential, but, I do prefer being specific about that ;D As I mentioned earlier .... there "IS" a known issure with the DC8 NG animation/turning axis .... BUT .... this affecfts just some of them only (like the DC8-62/72 as I recall) and not all of them generally. By far the grreater majority of our DC8's are/should be perfectly fine .... SO .... if you do think you've got a problem to be reconciled then (firstly) make sure that YD is indeed selected "OFF" because it will "severely restrict" the turning axis of the NG on all of the DC8's regardless. Sometimes changing from one model to another within the same FS session can result in "little issues" too .... where issues wouldn't normally exist (although this applis more to panels/gauges). That's because FS will always apply its last situation to its next situation. For this reason it's usually a good idea to temprarily load a default MSFS aircraft into an FS between transitions from one addon aircraft of choice to the next. It may sound inbcredibly boring .... and too simple to be true .... BUT .... I have seen it work .... "hundreds of times". It probably won't resolve the NG turning axis issue though .... for just those few (only DC8 types affected by it) because "THERE IS" .... as we acknowledge .... an minor issue there to start with and which is one that may relate to just those few models .... again DC8-62 and 72 I think it is Mark C AKL/NZ

Remember to "off-tick" the option "Auto-Rudder" which would block the nose-wheel from turning...
