Has anyone asked for a retired/decommissioned B707, perhaps an ex-Pan American Clipper, spray-painted out for a final ferry flight?

We've got a couple .... in the form of both the HAMBURG AIRPORT display and LUFTHANSA ENGINEERING TRINING B707-420's (both painted by Tony MADGE) .... if that's the "sort of thing you mean" .... PAN AM's glory years are otherwize quite well represented here in regard to both the B707/720 and DC8 .... BUT .... any ideas/prospects beyond these really requires pictures/images to accompany any such requests. Mark C AKL/NZ

Hasn't John Travolts 707 recently been partly Pan Am painted?

JT's 707 had vinyl decals put on the airplane for about 3 days so they could use it to film for the show "PanAm". Tail wasn't covered due to W&B issues (would've had to dismount and re-weigh the rudder to be able to legally fly it after the decal was applied). My understanding is there were some flying shots taken, thus why the need to not mess with the rudder.
