hi,
i was wondering if it would be alright if my friend and i addapt some of the 707 repaints to work with the Captain sim 707 Captain for FSX?
i will upload them to the CS website with your permission stating that HJG is the creator and that my friend and i are the addaptors.
i would appreciate it extramly because there is a lack of BOAC and British Airways repaints.

Sorry I dont think that our paints will work on the CS707 and I dont want our work manipulated and put somewhere else, if it turns out not to be a great job HJG ends up with the blame. I would suggest you use the cs paintkit and get hold of some photos

ok, i respect your desision, the only problem is that im not good at doing repaints, and my friend is a novice, it wont be shared online, just used for personal use and testing to see if freewear can be converted to paywear if the repaint comes out well (thats if we can do it) i can post a pic up to see if you approve???

I am at a loss here, you have cs707, but want a hjg 707 paint on it??? dont CS do a version would save you a lot of trouble. I cannot stop anyone using our textures for whatever they wish if its for private use, just would not like to see them uploaded for public use.

YOU KNOW WHAT ?
Without actually intending to promote our own HJG product .... by far the simplest solution here is (as 2 of the above replies basically hint) to not use the the CAPTAIN SIM "PAYWARE" B707 .... but rather .... invest in the "FREEWARE" HJG B707 simulations.
PLEASE NOTE .... that's intentionally "simulation" with an "S" on the end .... meaning "plural" .... because at HJG we don't represent just 1 only B707 version, but rather, we represent "the entire family of these aircraft" .... from B367-80 to the B707-700 and extending a long way into the militrary C145 TYPE series aircraft too.
These are all supported by some 30 (+) high-quality 3D models of B707 family aircraft .... featuring virtually every major strutural configuration/reconfiguration, literally hundreds of liveries/textures, 20 different and very functional 2D panels with interior views .... covering everything brom the B707-120 through to the B707-700, 12 different soundpacks .... representing every type of major powerplant ever hung on the wings of these aircraft, various smoke effects files, and very authentic FDE as well.
I'm not trying to "rubbish" the CAPTAIN SIM B707 product.
All I'm saying here is .... the B707 doesn't get better/more complete or cheaper for FS than has been offered by HJG for the past several years .... and that's "A FACT".
The only thing we/HJG don't/can't offer is a VC.

ive used the HJG 707 for ages and love to use it but i find that CS offers a lot more in their 707 except a large livery library. all i want to do is to addapt your great BOAC and BA 707 liveries to work on the CS 707 for private use only, thats why i started this tobic, asking for your permission to do so.
i will continue to use the HJG 707 for models not made by CS and for the Tristar.

I very much doubt that'll be successful/possible .... given that both the CS and HJG 3D B707 models are "quite different" .... and by virtue of that fact their texture mapping will also be "quite different" too Mark C AKL/NZ

If you are no good at painting and your friend is a novice you won't be able to adapt the liveries
If you do have the ability to adapt then you are capable of making them yourself from scratch...remember the curves etc won't be the same as the different maps on the different models will have different distortions.
Adapting means cutting the texture up and fitting them to the CS maps which is more work than making from scratch.
Then you have to match the details make new alphas etc.

That is spot on, Garry is right in saying it would be easier to paint your own rather than patch it up with our textures, it will look absolute rubbish Is it the VC you prefer?

I don't know what you think is so bad about the Captain Sim BOAC
There were a number of variations that the 707 wore so I suggesst you pick what you want and put a request on the CS forums.
It is no good asking here for Captain Sim paints.
Any painter here with time will want to further expand the range offered here for free rather than support payware.
