Does any of the md series, has front stairs modeled? If so, how can I pull them out?

So far as I'm aware .... as far as we've been advised .... "NO".
The forward PAX exits should open though on the basis of standard FS exit/door commands.
I guess the intention was for these aircraft to be parked on an airbridge .... as is consistent for most aircraft at most maajor airports around the world today.

ACTUALLY .... I may need to correct myself in regard to this forward airstairs business ;D Forward airstairs (door 1L) "MAY" (I'm not certain .... I'm not a "doorman" I just fly the bloody simulation ;D) be represented within these MD80/90 models. I know the DC9 models do feature this detail which is activated on the basis of the following MSFS keyboard commands .... which apparently needs being "manually assigned" within FS OPTIONS before it can work .... SO .... have a look at these .... and see how you go .... Again .... I don't know if the forward stairs is represented in these MD80/90 models or if this detail works on the basis of the same DC9 commands. Mark C AKL/NZ

Yes the doors all work like the DC-9s. Just confirmed on the MD82, the airstairs forward and aft look great!

I cant get the forward airstairs to function in the DC 9 or MD series.
I use Ctrl+Shift+E to open, and Ctrl+Shift+W to close the stair, but nothing happens.
Kind regards.

The "stairway animations" incorporated into HJG DC9 and MDX models function on the basis of the old FS2000 "CONCORDE VISOR" keyboard command .... which "is also" reprsented in FS2004 .... BUT .... which must also be "manually assigned within FS" before any of these other model animations can work.
The "stairways animations" are not assigned/active by default .... and the CNTRL+E+2 keyboard commands will open/close the doors only.
Here's a list of which keyboard commands fascilitate various animations on the DC9's (and which. so I've been advised, are also applicable to the MDX's too .... and do please note these animations which are stated to be controlled by keyboard commands which "must be manually assigned" within FS ....

AH .... they do work .... as you will see has already been confirmed by another partie much earlier within this thread and above.
However .... they will only work if ..... (a) the "CONCORDE VISOR" keyboard commands have been "correctly" activated (manually assigned) within the FS "ASSIGNMENTS" menu .... and (b) if the right keyboard comands are then used in order to activate the associated model animations.
Within the FS "ASSIGNMENTS" menu there are 2X options listed as follows ....
- Extend Concorde nose & visor fully
- Retract Concorde nose & visor fully
Model animations controlled by the FS "CONCORDE VISOR" commands are activated per SHIFT+F6 and SHIFT+F7.
These same keyboard commands are also appllicable to forward fuselage maindeck cargo door equipped HJG B707/720 freighters.

Just to show you/everyone that these door and airstairs animations "DO" work .... on both HJG DC9 and MDX aircraft models .... 1. MD83 Aircraft parked. All doors closed. 2. MD83 Aircraft parked .... with Door 1L open (standard SHIFT+E keyboard command). This door slowly "opens/closes" on the basis of this particular combination of keyboard commands .... and which are also standard/default FS door assignments. 3. MD83 Aircraft parked .... with Door 1L open .... and airstairs employed ( SHIFT+F7 to slowly "extend" and SHIFT+F6 to slowly "retract" keyboard commands). As stated a number of times previously now .... this particular animation "needs to be manually assigned" (it won't/can't work by default) within the FS "ASSIGNMENTS" options list. Mark C AKL/NZ

But is this the case for FSX? Would you be so gracious as to give me step-by-step instructions?
Peace, Michael

What you've actually done here (per inocent error or otherwise) is reply to this much older posting I linked you to within your recent/original thread on the DOUGLAS support page .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/7631/dc-9-forward-airstair.... BUT .... within which I did state as follows .... This situation is what we;ve learned since that much earlier posting and is something that can't be remedied without recompiliation of the 3D model and which, unfortunately, isn't within the realms of possibilities for HJG. In other words .... the DC9 model/s (as well as those for the MD80/80 series too) aren't FSX native despite their relatively recent vintage. The said airstairs animation/s work fine .... within FS2004 .... but .... can't be madework within FSX. These models can, otherwise, be usec in FSX, and work fine so far as i'm aware .... save for the limitation I referred to within my original reply Mark C AKL/NZ
