I thought be removing some of the 800 aircraft in FSX would help it load much faster. So I made a folder named "Removed" and put it under the main FSX folder, not under the Sim Objects folder. It did not help the time to load. I removed 300 of them. It never did load very fast, but it has gotten a little slower since I added the AI fleet. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Are you using genuine FSX models for your AI-traffic? The AI aircrafts in FSX are ignored in the selection-menu if you don't have a panel folder in the aircraft folder, so first be sure to remove any panel-folders in your AI-aircraft .... Secondly I've only heard of one single product that makes genuine FSX-AI traffic, and that is Ultimate Traffic II, all other third-party AI-traffic makers (like woai or CalClassic) are using FS9 models, and they do slow things down in FSX ...

Thanks Dan, Yes I have removed the panel folders if any in AI. No they are not genuine FSX AI traffic, but have been converted using a program that I recieved from tristar (Paul) that worked really easy. It isn't real bad, 3 minutes to load FSX and 2 minutes to select aircraft as I defualt is Microsoft FSX aircraft. Just wondering. It's not a big deal, it always loaded slow even the basic FSX Deluxe when I first installed it. At one time I installed Flight Deck 5 and then it took 10 minutes to even get FSX up. Thanks anyway, and Happy Holidays to all the great guys at HJG!

Two suggestions-
1. Move your Removed folder out of your main FSX directory and into a seperate location. Mine is called Hangar and its right on the C drive. I don't know why, and perhaps it's just my imagination, but I tried it and it seems to speed up FSX loading. One area I'm thinking of experimenting in is moving all my aircraft to a seperate hard drive and changing the FSX.cfg file appropriately.
2. Try regionalizing your traffic and remove areas you don't fly in much. Or remove by type, something along those lines. It will definately work better.

Thanks railrunner130, I'll try that. I have moved most non defualt aircraft to my stand alone hard drive, but they are also in FSX. I'm unsure of regionalizing my traffic, as most of it is WOAI via installer and then converted to FSX and I'm not that familiar with many of the particulars of FSX.

I removed the 300 aircraft from FSX entirely, and it still takes the same time to load. I think I will just have to live with it. Not that bad. Thanks to Dan and railrunner for their suggestions.
