Hey guys, I'm having issues with FS9, maybe ya'll can steer me the right way. I've been running FS9 on my pc I've built with no problems except video card issues I've persistently have ( fixing to send it back off for another RMA) but anyway. The problem I'm having is when I load up a flight, I've tried several larger airports to confirm, 1st I start losing textures on the A.I A/C around the airport, then airport buildings start losing their textures, then finally the A/C I'm flying loses its textures ( doesn't matter what A/C I choose ). Can anybody give me any ideas what it could be? I also have FSX and out of pure curiosity with the problems I'm having with FS9 I load up FSX, and I don't have the texture disappearing issues, BUT the only issue I notice is the mouse cursor is black instead of white anywhere on the A/C panel until you bring it up to the menu bar at the top. Is the video card the right point I'm pursuing because of the issue I'm having?

Oops I can see your specs... Your Video card is certainly capable for FS9 so I would be looking at different drivers.

Thanks for the reply, I had the latest drivers that ATI had released for the HD5000 series which is 11.12, that was one of the first things I thought about. I reverted back to version 11.11 with no luck, then I rolled it back to version 11.09 and still no luck. I've had bad luck with the video card I have before, I was hoping it wasn't gonna be that again. Right now I have my eyes on a Power Color Radeon HD6970, I'm kinda leary about trying another ATI card or the brand name but, the brand name, I checked on it, and they have alot of good reviews on the brand name and that model that I'm looking at. Has anyone here used that brand name before? or use a HD6970 for fs9

Are you running in windowed or full screen?

I usually run FS9 and FSX in windowed mode, but when you mentioned that, I tried to run them in full screen. When I switched from windowed to full screen, I lost all A/C textures. I switched to the spot plane view and started flying for a bit, just to see if I would have a CTD but I took off and landed in that view and noticed that the tire smoke effect was completely blocky. Would that be a texture corruption issue I'm having or the issue I'm figuring that it is with my video card?

Sounds like your card is U/S I think if its under warranty swap it if its not get a nice nVidia GTX560TI or go for a GTX8800 2nd hand off eBay great card for FS9. Do you have other problems with other stuff like games??

That's what I was figuring it was, the card is still under warranty, just getting aggravated with it, since this is gonna be the 3rd RMA on it in a little over a year. I do have other games on here for my daughter to play.... now that you've mentioned it one of them uses AA, when you turn AA on it CTDs with in 5 minutes plus it has flickers with it off, guess I wasn't putting two and two together.
I was pondering around the notion of replacing the card with a nvidia card or another ATI card, I was looking at a Radeon HD6970, or I was leaning toward a GTX560ti. I just haven't decided yet which way to go.
