Hello all,
My yellow speed bug adjusting knob stopped working (no mouse change or tool tip) on the 727-ADVC and 727-Super panels. Have tried re-installing the files to no avail. Not necessarily a big issue, but can't use the A/T without it. (can only fly at 250 KIAS)
Any suggestions?

Over the 3 years during which these B727 panels have been available .... and through at least 2 upgrades during this time also .... I´ve "NEVER" (so far as I can recall), ever, seen such a report. I want to be sure you are using the small black knob .... located about the bottom right of the ASI .... in order to adjust the yellow AT speed bug .... and not any of the other "silent hot spot"s located around the rim of the ASI and which are used to adjust the standard V-speed bug settings on the ASI. Clicking the left side of this black knob raises the selected AT speed value. Clicking the right side of this black knob lowers the selected AT speed value. The AT switch, located at the extreme left of the upper portion of the Main Panel (below the windshield) must then be selected "ON" in order for the AT system to function/respond in accordance with to selected AT speed commands. There is no reason for this AT speed selector knob .... or its yellow AT speed indicator bug .... to suddenly stop working properly .... more-so if it was working properly before .... unless the panel or its gauges/core file set have been modified in some way, or, the gauges/core filrs set possibly not installed correctly during your recent reinstallation of the panel .... OR .... unless something else has recently been installed in FS that might, potentially, be interfering with certain features of the panel. The latter would be a "very rare consequence" (as I mentioned above .... I have never heard of it with these panels), but, if it should turn out to be the case .... then .... I very much doubt we will be able to assist resolving your apparent problem .... simply for not knowing what you might have installed and how "it" might be interacting with the PROBST/CARTY gauges/core files set Mark C BOG/CO

This might sound "silly" .... BUT .... I should, perhaps, check that you are indeed using your B727-200 ADVC and B727-200 ADVC SUPER 27 with the correct Aircraft Base Packs/FDE for these aircraft. Use the wrong base pack/FDE .... and your AT most certainly won´t work. Mark C BOG/CO

Hello, sorry it took a while to get back here. Yes, I have the correct panels with the correct planes. Still having the problem, but found that I can use the keyboard shortcuts to adjust the yellow bug. Also I have discovered that when the aircraft is cold and dark the knob will work, but not when the engines are running. May try deleting then re-installing the files, but like I said in my first post it's not that big of a deal on the 727, since I'm used to no auto throttle on the -100s.

It´s an extremly strange situation indeed .... and again .... I´ve never heard of such a condition .... as past B727 testimonials/postings on this BOEING SUPPORT thread will confirm I can, therefore, only "assume" .... that something else currently installed on your system, within FS, is "possibly" interfering with the B727 panel, BUT, I couldn´t hazard a guess as to precisely what that may be .... OR .... it´s also possible that there may have been some form of file corruption, on your system, since you first installed these panels and when they were last working correctly .... and for that reason, maybe, a complete uninstall, redowbnload, and reinstall might not be out of order. BEYOND THIS ADVICE BEING SUCCESSFUL .... what you´re reporting, here, seems to be an unknown consequence of something else, likely beyond HJG´s control, that´s causing your problem Mark C BOG/CO

Thanks, I just wanted to see if it had occurred before.

Sorry we can´t put a finger on it for you What you´ve got and are experierncing is "COMPLETELY OFF THE WALL"/never heard of or previously reported here before As I suggested above .... it could, likely, be in conjunction with something else you´ve currently got installed that´s potentially interfering with that panel/gauge set, or maybe, something else going-on in the background on your system. I´d, perhaps, be inclined toward focussing on whatever changes/installations you´ve performed .... "since installling thAT PANEL/gauge set and when you last new these to be working correctly .... because I "suspect" this´s where the root of your problem "might" be. Mark C BOG/CO

I just ran across this thread, and I too had the same problem as I recall when I installed these a couple of years ago in FSX. I wish I could remember the fix, but I do recall it was something easy, like making sure you load FSX with default MS aircraft? I will try it in a couple of days to see if I can re-create it. There might have been a posting about it on FSX pages, but I'm terrible at searching this forum for stuff. Falcon

SeaDuck, I could not recreate this problem, however my control knob on the AI is black, the pointer is yellow. Try clicking on the black knob at the left bottome corner?

"THAT´S RIGHT" And that´s precisely what I asked him to be sure he was doing too .... but .... he doesn´t, yet, appear to have confirmed that point. If hes´experiencing what he sais he´s experiencing .... then .... I´m pretty sure it must be in conjunction with "something" else he´s got installed .... or running in the background that may, potentially, be interfering with the gauge set (it can happen) .... simply because I can´t, for the life of me, replicate such a problem as he´sdescribing, and nor have I ever heard of such a report (that I can immediately recall) previously either It´s "A STRANGE ONE" .... indeed !
