Early last year .... Camilo LUENGAS, and myself, undertook a private repaint project featuring the colourful AIR PACIFIC B747 fleet .... using the POSKY B747 models (P&W JT9 B747-100, and both P&W and RR powered B747-200) and the "PUBLIC VERSION" PSD files for these.
Together .... we painted all 7 B747-100/200 aircraft that have been leased by AIR PACIFIC, individually and for various durations, from both QANTAS AIRWAYS and AIR NEW ZEALAND between 1985 and 2003.
Whilst some of these liveries might "appear to look similar" they are, actually, each "DIFFERENT" .... as well as being highly authentic too (ranging from correct tail logo versions and positions, correct fuselage title positions and fonts, correct customised colours/stripping, to correct upper deck cabin window configurations) ... and .... also being based upon my own extensive "airside" photography of these aircraft, at NZAA, between 1986 and 2003 (I did "a lot" of aircraft photography for FJ, and many other airlines too, during this period, and continue doing so). Again .... each of these subjects is "as authentic as is possible given the proportions of the current 3D models .... which are a credit to POSKY modeller Hiroshi IGAMI"
"IF" anyone´s interested in having these textures .... we have, today, uploaded these subjects to FLIGHTSIM.COM and each is now currently available for downland and your "FREE" FS enjoyment

AND TO TOP EVERYTHING OFF .... here´s a little regardinging the operational history of Fiji´s AIR PACIFIC ....
Formed during 1947 (under the KATAMANA ESTATES LTD banner) by Australian aviator Harold GATTY, the company that was destined to become the national airline of Fiji, commenced operations as FIJI AIRWAYS, during 1951 .... serving a domestic route network throughout the Fijian islands group.
The airlines earliest equipment were each classic piston-engined aircraft in the form of DH DRAGON RAPIDE, DH HERON, DH BEAVER, DHA DROVER, and DC3 aircraft.
1972 was a "BIG YEAR" for the litlle airline .... the year it not only changed its name to AIR PACIFIC .... but also .... the year duringh which it modernized .... entring the Jet Age with HS 748 turboprops and BAC ONE ELEVEN jetliners which were introduced to its fleet.
The robust British-built BAC ONE ELEVEN (affectionately known within some aviation circles as "The Jeep Of The Skies") has flown on the register of just about every country of the world that is subject British political influence (excluding New Zealand whom was guided, not by the mother country, but rather, by its own brash "Kiwi Indivualism", and purchased B737-200's instead. The British government was "NOT AMUSED"), and, being "a member of the British Commonwealth " (at the time), Fiji has been no exception to the powers of such political persuasion. These aircraft enabled AIR PACIFIC to not only improve the quality of its domestic and regional services, but also, to fly further abroad .... connecting both Suva, and Nadi (pronounced "NANDI") with Auckland/New Zealand from 1974, and then Brisbane/Australia from 1975 .... with services billed as "The Friendly Little Airline". Later marketing became "Pacific Rainbow" services.
BAC ONE ELEVEN's (DQ-FBQ, DQ-FBV, DQ-FBY) remained the workhorse of the airlines international fleet and supported 3 variations of AIR PACIIC livery between 1972 and 1983 when they were finally withdrawn from service and replaced with a single B737-200 ADVC.
DH TWIN OTTER and EMB BANDEIRANTE turboprop aircraft were also acquired for the airlines domestic and inter-island route network during the 1980's.
During 1983 AIR PACIFIC extended its service from Nadi to both Honolulu/Hawaii, and the US West Coast/Los Angeles .... with a DC10-30 leased from WESTERN AIRLINES (ex AIR NEW ZEALAND ZK-NZN which was sold to WESTERN during 1980) .... although this service was discontinued within 12 months from 1984.
Major financial difficulties during the early 1980's saw a relationship forged between both QANTAS AIRWAYS and AIR PACIFIC .... with the Australian national airline providing both management and technical support from 1985.
The first of 7 seperate B747 (both -100 and -200B series aircraft of both P&W and RR powered versions) leases also commenced from 1985 and resulted in aircraft being leased from both QANTAS AIRWAYS and AIR NEW ZEALAND.
Each of AIR PACIFIC's B747-100 and B747-200 aircraft were named "Island Of Viti Levu" .... named for the main/principle island of the Fijian islands group.
1986 became AIR PACIFIC's first ever year of profit and the airline has remained profitable every year since .... to the extent that by 1998 QANTAS AIRWAYS had acquired some 46% of the airline.
During the early 1990's a B767-200 (DQ-FJK ex AIR NEW ZEALAND ZK-NBD which was acquired from VARIG BRASILIAN AIRLINES during 1987) also entered service with AIR PACIFIC. This particular aircraft was then replaced with a B767-300 during the late 1990's.
B737-700 and -800 NG aircraft entered service with AIR PACIFIC from 1998 .... followed by 2 B747-400's (ex SINGAPORE AIRLINES) from 2002.
Today AIR PACIFIC's principal domestic route network includes services Cicia, Kadavu, Labasa, Lakeba, Levuka, Rotuma, Savusavu, Taveuni, and Vanua levu .... from both Nandi, and Suva, on the main island of Viti Levu (though some of these routes are operated on a charters basis only or in association with the airlines wholly-owned PACIFIC SUN subsidiary) ..... whilst the AIR PACIFIC's international route network services Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney in Australia; Auckland, and Christchurch in New Zealand; and the Pacific Island nations of Apia/Western Samoa, Nuku'Alofa/Tonga, Funafuti/Tuvalu, Honiara/Solomon Islands, Port Vila/Vanuatu, Tarawa, Kiribati, Honolulu/Hawaii, Los Angeles/USA, Hong Kong, and Tokyo/Japan.
From its humble beginnings as an insigificant air service provider struggling to survive on a remote Pacific island and operating antiquated (but classic nine-the -less) piston-engined aircraft .... AIR PACIFIC has, today, grown to become a major, and succesful, airline force among the greatest of the worlds international carriers which currently fly the Pacific, operating a fleet of modern hi-tech turboprops and jetliners.
"A VERY SPECIAL THANKS" (muchismas gracias de todas maneras amigo ) to my friend and business colleague Camilo LUENGAS .... for his dedication to produce each of these great B747 classics .... "preserving a little more of the South Pacific´s colourful aviation history for FS enjoyment
