Hi everyone,
I recently resurrected the Dreamwings Q400 in FSX, but on my first test flight, I discovered that the light coordinates (strobes, nav lights, and beacon) were completely off. They seem to have the proper lateral and vertical positions, but they're situated well forward of where they're supposed to be (the nav lights are about equal with the cockpit, and the beacon is about 15 feet ahead of the fuselage). To the best of my knowledge, these are the original coordinates (I've downloaded several base packs and the coordinates are all the same). I know the general principle for fixing this, but can anyone tell me which numbers control the longitudinal position? I can probably handle it from there. Alternatively, if anyone has ones that work in FSX, feel free to post them here. Any help you can offer is much appreciated!

ultimatedelta Below a couple of Screen shots of two different Q400 models. The Premier Aircraft design Horizon Q400 and the Canadian Virtual Dreamwings Q400. The only problem I detected was with the DW nav lights...they were off a bit as you can see in the images. If you need any inf from the aircraft cfg. let me know. Herman

did you say DreamWings? Jesus, that was the very first development group I joined. I was doing a CRJ for them, never got it done.

You can easily adjust the lights in the cfg.... well.....usually Just look for the lights section. Each light will be listed where the first three numbers in the listing are the light coordinates. thie first number will be the longitudinal coordinate, the second the lateral, and the third the vertical. All are in feet. However some modelers hard code their lights into the model. If that's the case then you're SOL. If the the lights are hard coded, and the beacon is that far off (15Feet!) then that says to me there's something more amiss in the reference datum. Let me know if I can help further. Mike

Oops, I meant to say the first 3 numbers after the initial number which is the light type. The coordinates are easy to identify: they have decimals, and are also positive and negative values.

did you say DreamWings? Yeah...I thought it was probably the best-looking Q400 out there, limited as the choices are. What ever happened to them, anyway? Just curious.
