Hi Mark HJG_DC-8-40_Panel_v1 Im having a problem changing Panel config for DC8-40 on the aircraft panel alias=fsfsconv\panel.DC8-40 it keeps telling me pathway or file name incorrect Ive rechkd it so many times my brain is numb. No dice cant figure what is incorrect in the pathway.
Here is what I am getting Cannot create the C:ProgramFiles\MicrosoftGames\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\HJG_Douglas_DC-8-40_v5\panel\panel.cfg file
make sure that the path and filename are correct.
Thanks for your assistance Regards dave

Dave .... There's no particular problem with any of the DC8 panels or their alias assignments .... at least none that I'm aware of "IF" you've installed everything (both the panel related and seperate core files packages) in the right places (i.e. ALL panel Gauges files to the FS9 GAUGES folder. ALL panel Sound files to the FS9 SOUND folder .... not the sound folder in you DC8-40 aircraft base pack. AND .... the DC8-40 PANEL to the FSFSCONV folder .... then the PANEL.CFG file inside the Panel folder contained within your C8-40 aircraft base pack folder then being correctly aliased back to the FSFSCONV folder and the DC8-40 PANEL) then you shouldn't be experiencing any difficulties at all .... provided that all this's been done correctly and in accordance with the insdtructions which accompany the panel and core file downloads.. The only thing I can think of that might present a difficulty is if you're, for any reason, unable to edit the PANEL.CFG file within the Panel folder inside your DC8-40 aircraft base pack. If that's the case .... then this's possibly the result of the CFG files, somehow, having had their "READ ONLY" attributes activated. "IF THIS BE THE CASE" .... the the way to resolve this is simple and as follows .... - RIGHT CLICK on the CFG file.
- UNCHECK the "READ ONLY atribute appearing at the bottom of the dialogue box which appars in respose to RIGHT CLICKING the CFG file.
- Then select OK.You should .... then .... be able to edit your PANEL.CFG in accordance with the recommended Panel alias and without any further issue. "TRY THAT" .... and see how you get along Mark C AKL/NZ

OK .... if your trying to change/edit the PANEL.CFG .... but ....can't seem to same your edit .... then what I've speculated above is highly likely to be the cause of your problem.
Just RIGHT CLICK on that CFG file .... then UNCHECK the READ ONLY attribute .... then SAVE that change .... asnd you should the be able to edit that CFG to your hearts content.
