That was probably just Revell issuing it as a pretend 63...like the DC 9 in SAS which was a -10 and the SAS were-21
AeroMexico had two-62 (XA-AMR, XA-AMS), one 62H (XA-AMT) & two 63CF (N4865T, N4866T) both leased form Trans International Airlines

ALREADY DONE .... and available on our "DC8-63F" downkloads page as follows .... AERONAVES DE MEXICO DC8-63CF N4856T (1971)AEROMEXICO DC8-63CF N4856T (1973)AEROMEXICO .... and it's forerunner AERNAVES DE MEXICO .... leased 2 DC8-63CF aircraft from from TRANS INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES. N4856T at least .... stayed with the airline for a perod of about 3 years from 1971. Thanks to my friends and HJG colleagues .... both Eduardo ROCHA and Michael VERLIN .... we have "excellent representation" of both AERONAVES DE MEXICO (including AERONAVES/GUEST) and AEROMEXICO DC8's on our "DC8-50, DC8-62, and DC8-63F" downloads pages .... and which have been there for quite a while now too ;D That would likely have been a 1:144 molding by REVELL .... which was also used by LODELLA of Mexico, during the late 1970's/early 1980's. REVELL molded both the DC8-10 (often erroneously marketed as a -50) as well as the -61 (often equally erroneously marketed as a -63 .... as was the case with the 1980's REVELL marketing of their AFRICAN SAFARI AIRWAYS release). It "IS" possible to adapt the REVELL DC8-10 to represent a DC8-50 .... using the engines and pylons from their DC8-61 kit .... and provided one's first very skillful in the delicate art of "plastic surgery. It "WAS" possible .... up to a wee while ago at least .... to buy specially molded pylon, wing, and nacelle packages to convert the REVELL DC8-61 into a DC8-63 .... BUT .... more recently again .... the SUPER DC8 series has been marketed, and posibly better represented by MINICRAFT .... again in 1:144 scale. Mark C AKL/NZ
