I recently downloaded the Douglas DC-8-71F to fly in FSX. I installed everything according to the directions given in the zip file. However, when I go to fly the plane none of the guages show up. I get the 2D panel... but then there are nothing but empty spaces where the gauges should be. HOW DO I FIX THIS???
Am I missing a guages pack or something? I looked for one in the downloads aread but didn't see anyting.
Hopefully somebody can help me out... I'd really love to fly this plane!
Thanks, Rob

Sounds like you downloaded and installed the panel OK .... BUT ALONG THE WAY .... you've forgotten to download and install the "PANEL GAUGES/CORE FILES" package.
It's located at the to of the "DC8 PANELS" downloads page.
Download and install this "correctly" .... and you will/should then have a panel full of guages.

Be sure to install in the GAUGES directory and not in the GUAGES one!

Thanks to both of you. I feel pretty silly after asking that... I didn't even see the core guages file at the top of the page. I went to the panel downloads section, and only downloaded the panel.
I guess I'm still getting used to how the downloads work. (i.e. that the core files are always at the top of the page, and the textures, panels, etc... are what's below).
Much appreciated ;D

Don't feel silly, you are not the first, and you will certainly not be the last.... a very quick search on the forum indicates that there are quite a lot questions precisely like yours.... And even though it is quite clearly stated that you need the core files in almost all the install guides both here at the forum, but also in the files them selves... quite a lot of people seem to oversee this small fact. ...Good that you are sorted now.
