I have these great aircraft but have one small problem. There is a gap between engines 1 & 4 and there respective pylons. It's not a big gap. But it's noticable. I do have them installed in FSX so that may be the problem. Anyone using FS2004 or even FSX have this problem? It's the Eastern Airlines textures. I do also have the DC-8-63 variant and there is no gap that I can see. The DC-8-50/61 is my favorite varaints of the DC-8 family.

Like I said, It's not a big gap. Or rather a hole. Engine 2 & 3 are not like that. I know FSX has a little issue when it comes to FS2004 and earlier models with transparrent textures. And thanks for the quick responce.
edit: For some reason, my image won't post.

I've been experiencing "REAL MAJOR" Internet speed issues these past 24 hours, so, I can only, really, relate to the thumbnail image you've provided .... and highlighted/ring-marked in respect of your point of concern. Every time I try to view the full size version of your image less than a 1/4 of it displays (the area before/above the ring marked area) before it "CRAPS OUT" on me ANYWAY .... Personally .... I can't see (easily) anything out of the ordinary .... or that hasn't always previously or shouldn't be there at all. "IF" any issue is, at all, apparent .... then it's such a "minuscule one" that it might explain why no such issue has ever been previously reported, to HJG, by anyone else in the past 7-12 years. I think it does need to be understood, by everyone, that these DC8 models are by no means new FS technology. The current version of these models were last updated during 2003. Given the fact that there have been 2 major advances of the FS host program within this time (FS2004 and FSX) .... and that these models still continue work within each of these FS versions and despite such advances/changes .... is nothing short of being miraculous. I think it also needs to be understood that no FS model, or texture for these, is absolutely perfect .... all have at least one, or more, little irregularity .... and these can't always, so easily, be fixed In this particular case .... I don't believe there's anything HJG can do to change anything .... if anything is in need of any change at all .... largely because I, personally, can't see it, or rather, that it's "too minuscule" to be easily detected anyway. Thanks for taking the time to report though Mark C AKL/NZ

I see what you are talking about. Its not a model issue, actually a texture issue. Its called edge-bleed and is on the engine texture specifically. Are you familiar with editing textures?

Thanks for the reply. I can edit textures and save them in the formats the FSX can read (Extended bitmap and DDS) What do I need to do to fix this bleed problem?

Open the texture up in whatever editing program you use. Depending on that, you may need to convert it first to an editable BMP. You should see left and right images for the engine. The easiest fix at this point is to change the background color of the entire texture to a dark grey. Alternatively, you can extend the upper edge of the engine paint, 2 or 3 pixels. But that would take more time and skill. Hope that helps.
