Hi folks. I've been on this site for years and had thought I had registered! Never did. So, it looks like I'm a first time poster.
I run FSX/SP2/Acceleration on a low/modest end computer. I can get 40/60 fps with the tweeks I've made. I fly almost exclusively in spot plane mode. I noticed that when I fly the 727-200s, I'm getting an interesting lighting and texture problem with the upper and lower wing surfaces. The outer 2/3 of the right wing is always lighter or darker than the remaining right wing portion and the full upper left wing. Same goes for the underside of the wing. The spoilers and slats appear to be the "majority" color, which looks correct. Also the same issue with is apparent with the right elevator. Lastly, the full fuselage appears to be dark or more shadowed from all angles. The wing/elevator/fuselage issue does not appear on the HJG DC-9s that I fly. Is this unique to the 727? Is there a setting I need to alter? All my native FSX planes run fine.
I meticulously reinstalled the 727-200 Early and Advanced aircraft/panels/core files last night.
I'd appreciate any help/advice you can offer.
Thanks.

This sort of thing can happen when there is insufficient processing power to render the graphics properly
Non FS.X models are harder on resources
If you have self shadowing on, try turning it off.

Thanks for the quick reply. I never had self-shadowing on. You bring up an interesting issue I was unaware of regarding non-FSX models. I saw where the same thing occurred on a POSKY 747 and the HJG CV990. My Jet City DC-9s don't have this issue nor my HJG DC-9s. I'll play around some more with the settings. I didn't notice this issue until a recent to my NVIDIA graphics card.
Thanks again for the advice.

A bit of a shot in the dark
I know this can happen so it is a possibility.
Other than that I can offer no more advice, but, hopefully even if you don't get an immediate solution you might at least be facing the right direction.
Good luck!!
