I'm sure it's just me; hopefully not If I'm reading the instructions right,(that came with the b707_120b_138b_320c_b720b sound pack, it says to (after you unzip the file,) take the resulting subfolder called sound and simply replace it with the same one by the same name located - in this case; (In a default installation) (C:)>Program Files>Microsoft Games>Flight SimulatorX>SimObjects>Airplanes>HJG Boeing 707-138B_late v7>sound. As I understand it, that's where the contents of the Aeromusica soundpack go. As far as I know, you are supposed to overwrite the CFG in that location, and put the newly downloaded sound subfolder in its place. I found it impossible (literally) to complete the next step. That being Aliasing the new sounds to their new location. I believe the format is alias=folder/file name; although I'm not sure. Regardless, I had to edit that line, but couldn't because I had overwritten the original .cfg with the all the sounds included in the soundpack. So, where do I put Aeromusica's soundpacks? Thanks!

I'm afraid it "IS" .... because, from your description (above), it obvious you're either not following, or completely misundertanding, what the instructions are intended to guide one into doing.
Each HJG aircraft base pack has a default Sound folder .... which is typically aliased to those "crappy" MSFS B737-400.
All one is supposed to do is ....
Delete the default Sound folder supplied inside the Aircraft Base Pack folder .... and then replace it with the "SOUND" folder supplied inside your downkloaded AEROMUSICA soundpack.
One doesn't have to rename or alias anything .... either in regard to the "SOUND" folder or SOUND= data line of the AIRCRAFT.CFG file .... and one shouldn't be (unnecessarily) extracting the contents of the AEROMUSICA "SOUND" folder to the default Sound folder contained inside FS/Aircraft Base Pack folder or overwriting anything during the recommended installation process either.
IN OTHER WORDS .... it's a simple and straightforward Sound folder swap .... i.e. deleting the original/default Sound folder and replacing it with the new AEROMUSICA version.
Be advised also ....
The current range HJG hosted AEROMUSICA soundpacks are compiled for FS2004 use. They are not specifically FSX formatted, but, will run OK within FSX .... only not as well (as intended) as they do in FS2004.

"GOOD" Just one other thing too .... Although it's no big deal .... it's not actually necessary to quote/requote the entirety of my reply instructions with your response .... since it can (for some) only result in irritatingly repetitive re-reading of postings. "THANKS" Mark C AKL/NZ
