If one goes to FSX settings, then customize, where are the individual sliders suppose to be for maximum graphic usages? I know the water and the easy ones are easy to figure out, but the mesh etc settings confuse me. Any assistance on FSX would be appreciated. Falcon

I can´t tell you much about this in FSX .... I´m sorry Denny .... because I´m not an FSX user .... BUT .... my understanding ("IF" I´m correctly understanding what you´re referring to) is that in FSX, when one sets a certin graphics (scenery) related parameter/slider to it´s maximum .... then such action might result in the level of ground (not sure about water though) scenery density/detail actually being reduced.
In FS2004 of course .... as one increases these same sliders they are effectively increasing the level of display/scenery density too .... but .... there is, within this particular FS version, a compromise between land and sea/water scenery detail .... in that "IF" one selects maximum land/terrain/ground scenery detail in FS2004, then it automatically reduces the level of sea/water scenery detail .... and vice versa.
There must be a tutorial .... of sorts .... with recommended best settings which you might be able to GOOGLE search. Of course the level of scenery intensity/detail one see´s .... assuming one also wants graphics fluidity (FPS) to be their prority too .... is going ultimately to be determimed by ones PC resources (card, RAM, processor etc) as well the capacity of ones display monitor also.
Apart from this vaguery .... someone out there´s bound to speak up and advise what they, from personal experience/experimentation, might have found best for FSX and in a "general all-round sense".

Thanks Mark and Aharon,
I have tweaked FSX via several different articles out there. I'm just curious as to Mesh and texture settings as they are quantified in cm and meter. What is the best setting for great graphics? It really doesn't matter on my computer, as it is an old Vista OS, but a very good stand alone gpu, so I'm getting frame rates at 40 to 80 over KORD, KDTW with IA cranked up to 50%, and using FS Water Configurator set way beyond MS default capability. Yes I'm clocking the GPU a tiny bit. It appears that some A/C's are frame rate eaters, but lately my sytem is humming along quite nice. I do has some added scenery files as Microsofts suck. Anyway, I just thought I'd ask as when I set the general sliders to max, then go to Customize, the individual sliders on Mesh etc are different than what I thought they would be. It's not that I'm having problems, just curious George I guess. Thanks guys. Falcon, aka Denny
