I'VE COPIED & PASTED THE FOLLOWING POSTING BY HERNANN/"CROSSBONE40" .... MOVING IT FROM THE END OF ANOTHER FORUM THREAD IN THE HOPE THAT IT MIGHT, IN FUTURE, AID OTHER FOLK WHOM MIGHT HAVE REASON TO SIMILARY QUERY WHAT HERMANN/"CROSSBONE40" HAS ASKED ....
A few days ago I downloaded and played the HJG Convair 880 for the first time. Is it possible, that this model has no functioning window-wipers? At least I couldn´t find any? I saw some control knob on the Panel, but you can´t use it.
The HJG CV880 and CV990 panels "ARE NOT" equipped with widshield wipers.
I'm not entirely sure. but, so far as I'm aware, CV880 and CV990 aircraft were not equiped with wipers, but, it's also my understanding that other aircraft .... like the DC8 (I think) .... didn't have windcreen wipers, as such, either.
The HJG B707, B727, DC9, and L1011 panels "ARE", however, each equipped with working/animated windshield wipers.

The DC-8 didn't need wipers, and in fact it's rain repellent system was more sophisticated than the 707's!
Engine bleed-air was jetted from the bottom of the outside windshield and blasted upward across the windscreen. This created a boundary layer in front of the windshield, preventing rain or other small objects from touching it.
This same kind of system was also used on CV880 and CV990.
Better than wipers. No moving parts or rubber blades to replace.
