Hi all. After a while of problem free flights in the wonderful DC9-10 aircraft I have suddenly come across this issue. I have the aircraft loaded with fuel for the flight (12000 lbs being 6000lbs in each wing, center empty) everything is fine going through preflight and setting up the flight deck for the flight. But during the pushback and engine start the right engine will start fine, but as soon as I engage the starter for the left engine suddenly all fuel tanks will go to full load. Going into the aircraft fuel and payload selector to readjust the fuel will show all tanks full and 4300lbs over gross weight. I readjust the fuel back to 12000lbs but as soon as I get back into the plane the tanks go full again. Clicking on the fuel totalizer to get the new weight results in the engines shutting down. I exited out of FS9 and restarted it but the same issue happened again. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Which airport and where were you parked? If parked too close the the FS fuel station, the plane will automatically take on fuel no matter what you do.

The HJG DC9's have been available since around 2010, but, I've "NEVER" previously heard of any such problem as this.
I don't mean for that to read like a standard response from me in relation to issues reported in regard to HJG simulations .... BUT .... the truth is that these (the DC9's in this particular case) were all very well tested prior to their release (without any issues of concern becoming apparent), and as such, have over time, become even better understood.
OK .... so what you're saying here is ("IF" I understand you correctly) that these DC9 simulations all performed perfectly fine for a while after you first installed them (without any problems such as that which, you say, you're now experiencing) and that the issue, you say, you're now currently having is a relatively new development .... right ?
"IF" these simulations all performed fine previously .... THEN .... there's really no logical reason why they shouldn't continue to do so.
What I therefore need you to consider is the following possibilities which only you can answer ....
- Have you made any changes to the FDE for any of these DC9's.
- Have you made any changes or otherwise applied any additions to any of these DC9 panels.
- What changes have you made to FS generally .... in regard to the installation of other panels, guages, and modules/utilities in particular .... prior to experiencing the particular problem you're reporting.
In the absence of any known problems associated with these DC9 simulations (as this forum will confirm) .... or any common end user mistake I can think of, or detect, and which might result in the issue you describing .... I can only assume/"hazard a guess" .... and wonder if something else that you've subsequently installed might, possibly, have overwritten a vital component (like a guage or something) used by the HJG DC9 simulations, to result in what you, say, you're experiencing.
I can't think of any other possibility .... I'm sorry.
Have you tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of the entire HJG DC9 simulation .... particularly in regard to its panels, guages, modeles/utilities components ?
What Mike comments "IS" a possibility also .... BUT .... I've never heard of such affecting any of these DC9's .... or other HJG simulations.
I have, however, experienced almost precisely the very same fuel issue as you're reporting in regard to the TIN MOUSE B737-200 simulation, but, since it's not an HJG represented simulation .... apart from just mentioning it .... I don't want to go there within this particular thread.

While not parked right next to the fuel station I was parked in the vicinity of it. I have not had a chance to check at another location yet, but I do remember not seeing the fuel load drop until I exited the parking area where I was. Stupid me, I never even considered that a possibility!! I usually don't fly the little props so I don't use the fuel stations!
