Hello all
This is my first post here, and one which I've been wanting to write for some time. The purpose of it is to say a proper and big "congratulations and thank you" to the entire HJG team for the outstanding work they develop. Although I knew the name vaguely, I only discovered HJG properly about a month or so ago, and I certainly regret not having done so sooner. That is certainly my only regret, as experiencing HJG has been great. I was, like many others, biased towards payware for a long time, and it wasn't until I started digging a bit deeper (and back, sometimes) around the world of FS that I realized how much I had been missing in terms of freeware aircraft. There have been many great aircraft designed like this over the years, and thankfully that continues - HJG is living proof of that.
It was a search for the 717 that brought me here in the first place, but soon I was being charmed by the rest of the fleet on offer. And then... well, then came the TriStar. The L1011 has a huge history here in Portugal and I always longed to fly it properly in FS, but having had some disappointing experiences with other models (even payware) and as an FS2004 user I had accepted the fact it was not going to happen - until now I have now been flying the TriStar for a few weeks and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in FS in the last years. And when I thought it coudn't get any better... Well, out comes version 2.0 last week with the improved autopilot and the legendary L1011 autoland... You spoil us, you really do
Anyway, flying the TriStar has been a great experience, and not just due to the aircraft itself (which is amazing), but also due to the great way in which HJG presents its aircraft packages - the installation procedures, the tutorials, the forum, everything. It certainly shows what a "labour of love" and a treasure to us simmers this page and group are.
Another important detail I have to mention - and I'm sure I'm not alone in appreciating this immensely - is the respect with which HJG treats FS2004 and it's users. There is no bias towards FSX, and the option of many users who still use and enjoy it is not questioned - as unfortunately happens in so many other simmer communities.
So again, congratulations and thank you to all of you who make HJG so great, I hope this community may remain thriving and enthusiastic, and a place where we can share our love for the vintage jets.
Enough of tis long post, see you in the skies!
Antonio
