Hi Paul, your DC8's are one (if not) the best AI aircraft available and I know that your working on the 707 (hope entire range) but just wondering if you plan on an AI tristar, there are no good ones available. The convair liners would be nice too.

Have you searched FLIGHTSIM.COM .... or other FS websites .... specifically targeting "AI L1011" options ? I don't know if Paul ever plans to represent the L1011 as an AI subject, but, I think it's fair to assume he currently has his hands full with AI DC8's and B707's at the moment .... not to mention a certain UI project expansion he's been working on wih us for quite a while now too .... and without risking overloading him with "YET MORE" work/expectations HJG's own Dee WALDRON has, in fact, already produced, and released, what's considered to be a very good AI L1011 subject .... and .... there's also at least 2 other options out there too .... in the form of both RETRO AI or UKMIL AI offerings as well Mark C AKL/NZ

The DC-8-61 is just waiting for me to spend a month or more converting the textures for AI use, and then on to the 61F. Then the short bodies. The 707-320C is just about finished for the main model, but has some serious flight model bugs to sort out (It likes to nose dive into the runway is the worst one ). Then another 8 models have to be made for the LODs. Not a five minute job. All the variants are planned, but no date or year for them. The Convair's will also one day grace our AI skies. I have looked at the TriStar source file, and apart from having to learn some more Gmax, the main issue is the complexity of the model. I probably will appear one year, but don't ask me when. There are a long list of other planned projects already in front of it, and time is finite! Paul

Hi Mark
I remember trying a number of ai tristar's that I could find and none of them looked all that good in FSX (spoiled by high quality modern ai like Malconentent's DC10 series and Paul's DC8's) Dee's L1011 was without a doubt the best infact I remember being impressed at the time with Kevin Trinkle's Tristar which Dee's was based on. The problem is that all the Ai Tristar's are low poly and the Tristar is such a complex looking plane especially the number two engine intake section with tail (shadowing always looks bad in fsx, needs higher poly) I use HJG tristar's for my Ai so long as the textures are converted, the problem is with airports like Atlanta which is full of Delta's, I'm only into retro civil and mill.
Hi Paul
I'm sorry to hear about the AI problems with the 707 must be so fustrating, reminded me of a case when a 707 nose dived to destruction due to fatigue, I think it was a British based cargo operator.Glad to hear all the 707'S will be getting the ai treatment can't wait for the 400 series. Garry Russel's BOAC versions look really smart and coupled with Benoite's ai vc10 sounds will be a great addon for FSX.

Slow going now due to it being summer, and a PC that likes to do a mega quick BSOD whenever it feels like it (some driver conflict). The 707 was one of Dan Dare's leased to IAS that nose dived at Lusaka. I think it was G-BEAF if my memory is working correctly. Paul
