im not sure if everyone is a member here of the FB group "Boeing 707 Fan Club" at all but someine today or yesterday posted a few pics of 9q-clk in all the colors its been in the last few years and the previous one of british eagle 707. But it also had the brand new blue and white and i do not see it in the 707 to 720 list. If it is and you have it id like to see it painted up for 707...
was the brown version a private jet? thats cool
mabe if you paint this you can put it right below the brown one!!

"YES" .... it was (as a government/VIP transport) .... and for the same owner/operator as per the 2-tone blue/white liveried version also .... this being the government of the Republic of Congo. Incidentally .... a number of folk have, in the recent past, often referred to this particular 2-tone/white identity as being that of BOEING/DREAMLINER .... however .... and whilst it may appear similar in layount/presentation .... a very close inspection. and comparison with the BOEING/DREAMLINER livery, does reveals that it's actually "QUITE DIFFERENT" in a number of respects .... 9Q-CLK is a B707-138B (a slightly shorter, but, much longer ranging version of the original B707-120) built especially for QANTAS AIRWAyS trans-Pacific requirements .... an opportu8nity for BOEING (eager for its B707 to gain world airline appeal) which came about as the result of DOUGLAS refusing to compromise/modify it's basic DC8 design in accordance with specific custoimer preferences. This particular aircraft .... C/N # 17702 .... L/N # 64 .... was among the first batch of 6 originally turbojet powered B707-138's delivered to QANTAS AIRWAYS from 1959. This one became "VH-EBG" .... named "City Of Hobart" .... and was delivered to QANTAS on September 18th 1959. Like all 6 of the first batch of B707-138's built and delivered to QANTAS .... VH-EBG was converted from its original water-injected P&W JT3-C6 turbojet engine to P&W JT3D-1 fanjet power during January 1962. During this period period it was also (again like each of the other 5 original 1959/1960 B707-138 deliveries to QANTAS) was modified with an extended tail fin (all early delivery B707-120, -138, -220 .... and some of the earliest B707-320 and -420 deliveries also .... featured the original/ short tail fin as did the first 3 production B720's also), lower rear fuselage ventral fin, and the B720 type wing glove (although B707-320 and 420 wing was never modified) .... and which resulted in each of these aircraft then being redesignated "B707-138B".The last batch of 6 B707-138's delivered to QANTAS AIRWAYS ....during 1961 and 1964 (in advance of the larger B707-320C) .... were each built to B707-138B (-120B) specifications. VH-EBG remained with QANTAS AIRWAYS until March 15th 1968 .... when it was sold to EAGLE AIRWAYS (G-AWDG "Pheonix") .... It was then sold to LAKER AIRWAYS (G-AWDG) on January 29th 1969 .... then to CHARLOTTE AIRCRAFT CORPORATION (N600JJ) on November 7th 1978 .... then to IASCO (N600JJ) on November 17th 1978 .... then to TRAFALGAR LEASING INC (N600JJ) on October 10th 1979 .... and then to SHEIK ABDULLAH BAROOM on June 1st 1981 (N600JJ). This particcular aircraft was then was then sold to SKYWAYS AIRCRAFT LEASING INC (N707KS) on August 17th 1987 .... then to FIRST CITY BANK HOUSTON/TEXAS (N707KS) on February 16th 1990 and then leased back to SKYWAYS AIRCRAFT LEASING INC on the same date. It was then sold to the government of the REPUBLIC OF CONGO (9Q-CLK) during March 1998 .... .... and with whom it has since remained. Regular travellers through Miami, Florida, USA (such as myself), during 2011/12 may have noted this particular aircraft being overhauled .... and then stored there .... during this particular period.
