"THANKS" for your input Herman I think RAM1220's issue could, possibly, come down to however FS is configured on his system .... in that when he goes to adjust the horizon view (in this particular case), per the recommended keyboard commands (assuming he's doing that), then, it may be changing his point view perspective per too large/or small an increment (I don't don't know .... I can't see what, hey sais, he's seeing/experiencing) .... and "IF" that's the case then I wouldn't know how to resolve that. Failing that .... he may, simply, have an unreasonable anticipation of the type of view that can be seen from a 2D panel (more-so given the L1011's naturally high pitch attitude during landings) .... since peoples expectations and preferences "DO" vary. Digressing slightly here now ....The only thing that concerns me in regard to RAM1220's particular issue though .... and why I bother mentioning the "possibility" of FS, or even controller device, related configurations .... is that not too long ago he also reported an elevator trim related setting issue with another HJG simulation. However .... knowing the settings I was using, and recommending, for these same aircraft were more-or-less similar on each of the multitudes of PC's supported all manner of different controller devices I've used to date .... there was no way I could replicate anything like the actual settings he was, apparently, having to apply simply in order to be able rotate any of these other simulations. Again .... this's the only reason why I "suggest" (hazard a guess really) that some variance of internal FS configuration "MIGHT" be the cause of his disatisfaction/s. "IF" that's the case .... THEN .... I regret to say there's probably bugger-all HJG can do to assist .... beyond what's already been advised, hinted, and otherwise proven to work/be a desirable procedure. It's a great pitty really .... because we, at HJG, do take all such reports "very seriously" and it does please us to be able to promote peoples enjoyment of our products .... BUT .... in the absence of any confirmed/known issue, I can't, really, offer any other explanation/s .... Mark C AKL/NZ

Mark there were other people who also reported the same trim problem that I was having with the MD-80. I wasn't the only one. Your response is always that you never experience any problem that anyone is ever experiencing. I have seen this several times over and over in these forums. Then a few days later after others have reported a same problem you change your tune. Not always but I have seen this enough to know that it is usually your first answer to everything. Anyway like I said before I have parked the L1011. I find that for me the B727,B707 and DC9's work just fine. I will stick with those planes only.

Really ram1220? HJG offers probably the most realistic products out there including payware, FOR FREE! And oh by the way, since I have joined this forum and started flying their offerings, I have never seen some problems someone was having never addressed. Did you really want to post this on line? Please use some restraint in the future, as it is my opinion and experience that these people at HJG are the kindest, most informed support group out there! It is upsetting to see someone that frustrated, that they have to take it out on someone who has actually tried to help you in a kindly manner, be degraded. Mark has helped me with problems I was having even tho I use FSX when Dan was not available. Guess what? Any problems I have had in the past with HJG offerings, has been of my own making! His expertiese has been so helpfull to so many. Falcon

I think the effort put in by the HJG team is quite astounding, a level of service even a payware organisation could be proud of. Albert

"YES" .... many times my responses on these forum pages have indeed been either .... "no such problem is known to exist" .... or .... "I can't replicate a particular issue" .... because it's a fact. I don't imply that HJG products are perfect/flawless, but, everything's very well tested (on the basis of my understanding of how it should all work and/or my own personal familiarity with it) prior to it's ever being released here .... and I'm, usually, the prime individual responsible for that I seldom alter my own view/tune .... because except in the line of spelling/gramatical editing of my own postings, or inclusion of additional information or to clarify a particular recommendation/instruction in order to try'n aid someone, or in any case of misunderstanding or oversight (on my part) of a particular issue .... I find I seldom ever need to. In regard to your past query .... unrelated to this particular thread. There had been at least 2 similar reports since 2011. I believe I acknowledged this within that or another related thread. Within the last of these past threads I implied the issue "seemed" to be related to a combination of weight, speed/velocity, and ET setting factors (the latter of which you and I couldn't agree upon .... simply because I don't require anything like the settings, you say, are relevent to your particular case) .... AND .... I did also post an "interim fix at the time (which should aid those whom feel they have an issue to be addressed). I've also additionally stated, more recently, that the matter is still under investigation by me .... and which "remains the case". HJG "DO NOT" ignore or easily dismiss such reports. We take all reports "very seriously" .... just in case we have ever, inadvertently, overlooked something. It's, perhaps, unfortunate though that we/HJG can't seem to be able resolve whatever it is you, apparently, feel you're in need of assistance with. That's the only thing which troubles me in regard to this/your latest issue. Mark C AKL/NZ

The final product and the staff here at HJG are head and shoulders above anything else available... whether freeware or payware. The support here is unbelievably prompt, I've seen issues and requests resolved/completed within hours. I've visited other flight sim sites and can find questions and issues unresolved or not even responded to for weeks at a time. I've experienced several issues with HJG aircraft and in the end it was always pilot error. I'm the biggest offender of downloading a new airframe, jumping in the left seat thinking "it's all the same" and haulin azz down the runway. I learned (after several hours of head scratching and F bombs) when the DC-9'S rolled out of the hangar to read the Panel Installation & Handling Notes or your flaps and landing gear WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. Installing these aircraft, panels, sounds and paints can be frustrating for both the novice and the experienced. One little "typo", missed step or misplaced file can really mess the whole process up. I'm sure we've all done this. Flying these aircraft are not the same. Sometimes we just need to step back, do some research and take the advice of fellow simmers. If your issue isn't being experienced or duplicated by anybody on the message board, guess what?...it's you! Don't give up or get angry with everybody. Take a break, look things over. Remember, these aircraft are not all the same. They do have different flying characteristics. Adapt and adjust!

Ram1220..... a lot of us have gone out of our way to try and assist you with your problem , probably because you mentioned in your first post that you really liked the aircraft ( the L1011).
You mentioned that you wanted to know what settings we are using for seat height and view distance and we have given you answers and suggestions. We have also given you a number of flight deck view images to show what our appraches looked like.
You always mention that things don't look right to you "it's either too high or too low". Please let us know how it should look to you. What are you expecting it to look like?? What have you done to try and improve the approach view???
How are you managing the approach in terms of aircraft weight, speed and flap settings??. What sort of control devices are you using. Show us some images of what your approach looks like.
