I wasn't really doubting you Tony; I was just curious because I didn't know that some of the aircraft had a black circle on the radome at one time. I know that they can often be changed. I've seen aircraft with radomes that didn't match the livery on the remainder of the aircraft at all. So I now see that some of Republic's MD-80s had the black circle while others did not. I never said you were wrong. As I said in an earlier post, I am just making suggestions. I think you did a great job on this repaint and with others you've done as well.

That´s why I mentioned "PAINTERS CHOICE" I think what it can often come down to sometimes is .... - Is it historical ? - And if so .... does someone want "to do it" (does it "appeal" to someone with the ability to do it I mean) rather than to someone else whom "just wants it" ? - And in the case of (historical) multi-couloured/liveried fleets like those of MEXICANA and BRANIFF (in particular .... but there are others too) .... then .... how well does someone (with the ability to do it) want to cover it/these ? Everyones tastes in FS differ .... in that what appeals to some doesn´t to others .... of course. I know (and have worked with) painters whom like to paint all of the period liveries of a particular airline/operator .... and some whom even like to go so far as representing all of the subtle livery variations within a particular airline/operators fleet of aircraft too .... and then others whom prefer focussing their efforts/energies on just current and/or definitive livery verssions only. Either way it´s .... once again .... the "PAINTERS CHOICE" .... of course .... but .... one thing you can bet on is that whatever´s painted and relased is definitely going to appeal to someone .... and often for purely sentimental rather than historical reasons. If a particular repaint ever got only 1 download .... because it first appealed to someone with the ability to dfo it to want to do in as much as it then appealed sufficiently to to someone else to download and fly it .... then .... I think that justifies or otherwise makes any such repaint excercize in providing it a "WORTHWHILE" one I also know of any number of folk whom have actually downloaded "THE ENTIRE" HJG inventory too .... believe it or not ,) Mark C BOG/CO

I remember a while back (a few years!) I downloaded one of my repaints from HJG as I had lost the original only to find I had made a huge error and the tail and fuselage textures were a mess, if that had been downloaded by anyone I am sure they would have asked for it to be fixed. No one ever did so I guess I was the only user :0) I guess some get a few downloads but there are definitely some there that gather virtual dust. But the main thing is they are there should they be needed by someone

The only point I was really trying to make/stress is .... Running an FS freeware website is all about trying (note I do say "TRYING") to please people .... or it should be at least or what´s the point of doing it at all .... BUT .... only within the bounderies of those responsible for providing that pleasure "first" being able to "please thesemselves" as they try to do so. To look at things in a slightly different context .... As may be observed per the REPAINTS REQUEST forum page .... HJG gets a lot of repaint requests, but, only a portion of these may ever actually be done, simply because (despite the fact we do aim to try´n please) whatever´s requested has "FIRST" got to "APPEAL" to those capable of doing it .... otherwise it risks everything becomming quite onerous, to them, and which can, potentially, lead to the demise of everything Time for me to move on now .... I was joking when I said I like being doubted my sense if humour Re paints, well I try and do the requests but it helps if the subject is interesting to me. I do turn down the ones I have no interest in, that may be selfish but it's a hobby not a production line Some are happy some are not but that's life I guess. Nothing would please me more if we had a couple of full time modellers a few painters and guys like Mark and his brilliant team working on panels FDE's and sounds. Then if Dan was also full time we could upload everything daily. Only downside is we would need about £300000 a year. Amy offers
