Gents, Apologies if this is in the wrong forum...
I need help with a particular difficulty in the 707 autopilot.
When descending, the autopilot doesn't want to descend faster than 400fpm, no matter what I set in the autopilot rate of descent. It didn't used to do this, but I can't seem to figure out what's causing it. It's ascending on autopilot just find, and obeying the climb setting, but on descent it doesn't want to do it.
I have the altitude alert callout set to the appropriate (lower) altitude, but this doesn't affect it.
Any advice?
v/r, Mike

Should really have been posted on the HJG "BOEING AIRCRAFT" support forum page, but, we can deal with it here I guess .... since I can´t seem to be able to move it This shouldn´t happen at all (particularly if it never used to happen previously as you say) .... but .... I have heard of this particular issue a couple of times (only) over the past sevral years, but, it´s a "VERY RARE" one. The AP ROC/ROD thumb wheel should always induce a roughly 100 FPM adjustment in the ROC/ROD .... "in response to each mouse click" .... and as such one should then always be able to command whatever ROC/ROD they desire The only solution I can think of .... in order to "possibly" address this very rare issue is to install Pete DOWSON´s FSUIPC module (even in "standard freeware/limited license" format) .... and select its "MINIMUM DEFAULTS" (only) option .... and which should, then, resolve this particular difficulty. 99% of users will not/should not ever experience this "very rare" issue though .... BUT .... at can happen on some systems (for whatevcer reason) and, perhaps, also be provoked by some FS installations and/or OS updates too. FSUIPC "IS NOT" not actually required in order to run any HJG simulations .... however .... it is needed (once again even in unlicensed form) for in order for the weather radar unit built into some HJG panels (including those for the B707/720) to be able to work .... but .... that´s all .... normally. One should be able to acquire a copy of FSUIPC from SHIRATTI.COM at ther following address .... www.schiratti.com/dowson.html.... but .... be sure to download, and install, the version specific to ones FS intallation .... either "FS2004" .... or .... "FSX". You might also be well advised to reinstall .... the B707 panel gauges/core files package too (it should be quite safe to overwrite the existing files) .... either before, or subsequent to, performing the FSUIPC installation .... should you desire to try doing that.
