I'm not 100% on the N number, it might of been N8775 not N8776 but as close as I can get based on the videos and few photos... N8776 circa 1967 Paris Air Show markings, show number 209

Great so now I've got 3 possibilities I guess I'll hold that one till I figure it out... but the one pic that shows the reg clearly seems to show a gap in the last number... and from what the articles say the plane was delivered to Eastern immediately AFTER the show, 778 was delivered 3 months before the show (Show was in May/June of 67, 778 shows delivered Feb 23 1967), but of course that might be the reporter making a mistake... or the delivery date in the documents isn't the turn over date... First scheduled -61 services were in July of 67 from what I've read just to further murk this up... And then again 778 IS the 1st -61 off the line... sigh... I'm gonna have to hunt for more info... I can make it any of the above easily enough, if only they hadn't slapped the 209 over the fleet number... theres about 20 decent shots of the nose

The 1967 Paris Air Show took place within th first few days of June 1967 .... if I´m not mistaken. EASTERN AIR LINES took delivery of 6 DC8-61-s during 1967 .... and which were as follows .... N8871 C/N 45912 L/N 315 - delivery date December 9th 1967 N8774 C/N 45894 L/N 297 - delivery date August 6th 1967 N8775 C/N 45889 L/N 291 - delivery date May 26th 1967 N8776 C/N 45888 L/N 290 - delivery date May 16th 1967 N8777 C/N 45887 L/N 287 - delivery date March 27th 1967 N8778 C/N 45848 L/N 285 - delivery date February 23rd 1967 As can be seen above the aircraft registration/delivery dates are all out of sequence .... possibly a reflection of parts shortages imposition/crisis which hit McDonnell-Douglas (as it had become by around 1967) during the Vietnam war build-up. "IF" Peter is correct .... and which I, personally, assume is the case (since I respect him as being an authority on EAL), then, as suggested within his earlier/original posting, only 2 of the above aircraft really fit the 1967 Paris Air Show bill, if these aircraft hadn´t, at that time, been officially handed over to EAL .... and these 2 aircraft are as follows .... * N8775 (could be this one) * N8776 My own history searches of each of these 6 EAL DC8-61 subjcts has turns up nothing in regard to either aircraft being displated at the 1967 Paris Air Show as exhibit number "209" .... BUT .... we do know one of these aircraft most certainly did participate. What I did turn up though .... in regard to N8775 in particular .... and thought might be of interest (if not off-topic too) is that this particular aircraft was sold to JAPAN AIR LINES on July 23rd 1973 where it was re-rehistered JA8061 .... and was the aircraft "pranged"/written-off by them in the infamouis accident of February 9th 1982 .... when it (as some folk may remember) undershoot the apperoach to Tokyo/Naneda airport and landed in the shallow waters of Tokyo Bay .... some 500 meters short of the RWY threshold. ACCIDENT REPORT .... aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=19820209-0 Mark C BOG/CO

If any of you have fancy computers or tech glitz, any of you will be able to zoom in to view registration number. I do not have any fancy computer or tech means or fancy police computer equipment to zoom into that registration number.

Hate to break bad news to you but I am afraid you would need to move the Eastern word little bit to left on right side of the DC-8-61 with number 209 because the last letter "N" of Eastern was above the sixth passenger window from right as shown on the photo I posted. Yours shows letter "R" above the sixth passenger window.
That is if you think it is important or not. Your call. Thought you would appreciate realism. If it is not important, that is ok. At least. we got the registration number corrected for Paris Air Show.
Regards,
Aharon

I've already identified a major change i need to make to all of them... Eastern didn't have the forward hat rack door, that needs to be removed from all 3 above... oh well... easy enough. Then I'll look into moving the titles, but they were moved pretty quickly slightly further forward... pics from 68 show them where i have them.
