For our DC8 fans !
I wouldn't normally go to out of my way to promote a DC8 repaint that wasn't done by one of our team members, but .... and despite not being officially sanctioned by HJG, there has been released on FLIGHTSIM.COM the other day, quite a nice "FUERZA AEREA DEL PERU" texture for our DC8-62 model.
For any DC8 fans interested in downloading this subject the file name to search for is as follows ....
dc86_fap.zip
The aircraft represented is "FAP 370" featuring this aircrafts 2005 variation of Peruvian Air Force livery ....
www.airliners.net/open.file/0985479/L/
.... with "blanked" (not painted out) cabin windows.
FUERZA AEREA DEL PERU have over the years operated a number of DC8-62's which have been employed in both VIP/PAX and freight/logistics service roles.
This texture is by default set up to be used with our standard DC8-62 model .... which is an error !
It should really be used with our "DC8-62F" model .... to do so will require very simple renaming of each of the 5 fuselage bitmaps to match those of the current texture conventions used by our "-62F" model !
Quite a nice repaint really .... and a nice addition to the collection of anyone who enjoys flying the DC8 or latin American skies in particular !
Later on we will be releasing a very rare DC8-62F repaint by our John DETRICK .... in "KUWAIT AIRWAYS CARGO" livery .... "N61CX".
This was an aircraft leased to KUWAIT AIRWAYS by ATI.
Sorry about the delay with this John. I'm absolutely inundated at the moment with new B707 gauges testing, and the testing of our new DC8 panel/gaues, along with other stuff too
YEP FOLKS .... you read it right !
In the very near future we are going to be releasing George CARTY latest version B707/720 panel gauges/core files package for our all our Boeing panels. This will be a "GAUGES/CORE FILES" update only and will not require any changes whatsoever our existing B707/720 panels, models, or FDE.
We will also soon be releasing revised/updated DC8 panels as well. These will require both panel/gauges/core files, and aircraft base back/FDE changes .... when the time comes.
Both lots of panels will be comprised of a number of improvements and nice new features !
I'll tell you all more about this later on per different threads dedicated especially to these particular subjects.
Our forum may seem quiet somtimes .... but .... there's a "HELL OF A LOT" going on "here" behind the scenes. We hope you will enjoy the fruits of our labours following soon.
