Hi HJG,
Took the very nice md83 for a spin this evening. On start up i noticed something strange. The n1 gauge seemed to show the n2 value and vice versa. I usually startup the engines by spooling them to around 20% n2 and then add the fuel. But in this case i wondered why the n2 gauge climbed so slowly until i noticed that the n1 gauge was allready well above 20%. Tried a reinstall with no change of result. Has any of oyu noticed the same?
Regards
Kim
PS I'm allmost sure i had the same problem back in the fs2002 days with a 747 panel. Might it have been a Paul Golding panel back in those days? I'm not sure myself. And i can't remember what the result was back then.

"YES" .... it "IS" as you've observed on startup, but, that's the way these panel/gauge (the GOLDING WHITE and RED versions only) indications "ARE" .... I'm afraid .... at least during the engine startup phase. As mentioned within my "MD80/90 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" posting (our fiorum based online manual for he HJG MD80/90 simulations) .... none of the 4 MD panel/gauge combinations currently offered by HJG, having been produced by non-HJG engineerrs and then, hosted by us with their consent, have ever been "fully adapted" to our own FDE .... and hence the minor discrepebcy you've noted. This's one of the few (very few in fact) minor discrepencies evident in these 2 panel versions in particular .... and which are otherwise very suitable for/compatible with each of the HJG MD81/82/83 simulations. I don't know whether or not we'll ever be able to moduify these panels/gauges in thefuture .... theres' certainkly no plans to. It's not that we can't .... or aren't interested in doing so .... BUT RATHER .... it's simply a case of other project priorities "IF" it concerns you .... you can elect to use the SOUTHEY version B717-200/MD80 EFIS type panel.... and which doesn't demontrate the startup gauge indication behaviour you've observed. Although normally reconmmended for use with the HJG MD87/88/90 simulations .... its use with our MD81/82/83 simulations isn't out of place given the extent of upgrading which some of these aircraft underwent laterduring their service.. The SOUTHEY B717-200/MD80/90 panel version is also the one I use mostly and with all of the HJG MD80/90 simulations .... along with the others too (of course) for reasons of being able to provide forum based support. Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply. Fortunately its absolutely flyable. And it was a joy to take it from Heathrow to Aberdeen. So don't worry about the discrepancy. I just wondered if i did somthing totally wrong.
Keep up the good work.
