I'd like to thank 2 of our Italian community friends for their following CARAVELLE textures ....
SE-210 CARAVELLE 3 I-GISE ALTAIR LINEE AIREE (1982)
By Stefano MENEGHINI
SE-210 CARAVELLE 10R TU-TCN AIR AFRIQUE "Nouakchott" (1978)
By Giuseppe SCAPACCINO aka "JR"
The ALTAIR CARAVELLE was first delivered to AIR FRANCE, as F-WNKB (c/n # 208), on April 15th 1966 .... then leased to AIR INTER from August 1966. This particular aircraft was then sold to AIR INTER on January 25th 1975 and with whom it operated until 1982 .... when it was next sold to Italian air charter operator ALTAIR LINEE AIREE, on April 5th 1982, and became I-GISE. ALTAIR then flew this aircraft until October 1985 when it was withdrawn from service. It was then used as a pizzeria restaurant ("PIZZERIA FALCONARA"), near the MUSEO AERONAUTICO AIRPARK between Loreto and Porto Recanati, and later became the PIZZERIA RISTORANTE CARAVELLE near Sant'Egidio Alla Vibrata in Central Italy. This aircraft may still exist "in storage" now .... but .... I'm not sure.
The AIR AFRIQUE CARAVELLE was first delivered to ALIA ROYAL JORDANIAN AIRLINES, as JY-ACS (c/n # 199) named "Amman", on July 28th 1965. It was then sold to AIR AFRIQUE, on December 3rd 1973, and became TU-tCN named "Nouakchott". In service it suffered a complete electrical systems failure (both standard and backup systems) near Abidjan on November 6th 1975, but landed safely .... although damaged .... and was repaired and later returned to service. It was next sold to TRANSEUROPA, as EC-DCN, during June 1978, then acquired by HISPANIA LINEAS AEREAS during April 1983, followed by EUROPE AERO SERVICE during late 1987 and was scrapped at Perpignon, France, during the late 1990's.
Grazie mille/Thank you very much Stefano .... and Giuseppe
It's actually been a while since I last flew the CARAVELLE (just busy with other projects) .... but .... in preparing the above screenshots I was pleasantly reminded just how b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l-l-y these simulations fly in FS2004.
