HJG currently hosts the first scheme that New York Air used when they launched operations in the very early 1980s(?). Here are two photos of that scheme that is represented here at HJG:

Note the extensive use of black around the engines, within the titles and the apple logo on the tail and the stylized script of the titles.
Around 1984, but certainly by 1985, the carrier had transitioned into a brighter, more crisp and straight-forward design for their fleet. It is this design that I am hopeful one of the painters will consider updating sometime. Here are a few examples:
