With my recent situations, (Area 38, and only some or all of the waypoints I've added not showing up in fs9), if I were to uninstall fs2004, what folders would it remove?
Is there anything I should know beforehand before considering uninstalling/reinstalling 2004?
Would that solve my "remote path not found" error re: Area 038, being "Addon Scenery."
and
Would all the waypoints I've entered then show up?
Thanks in advance,

"IF" .... you uninstall FS2004, then, you're going to lose "EVERYTHING" you've ever installed into it, and that runs inside it, as part of the host programs file directory. Some addons/programs/utilities install outside of the FS host program .... and these might remain .... BUT .... without the host program they'\ll become "as useless as tits on a bull" and might not necessarilyy work uponh reinstallling FS I'd encourage you to try'n "work toward resolving the problem" .... probably via the AVSIM and FLIGHTSIM.COM forums .... if not the progrm vendor itself .... rather than considering just pulling the plug on everything. I'd say you've probably either entered, or installed, something incorrectly (perhaps on the basis of misunderstanding) .... OR .... you may have something in conflict with something else that you've entered/installed and that's causing your problem . It "CAN" ..... and "DOES" .... happen sometimes .... BUT .... I wouldn't have a clue how to get around it Mark C AKL/NZ

What do you think if: I restored just the file in question from a backup I made last year? (I don't know if I could use the most recent one, they are incremental backups, saving only the changes one from another.) Would that work? or do they have to be physically installed? Thanks. P.S. Your post does give me pause. Great line about the bull.

I think you could, potentialy, be digging yoursef into a bigger/deeper/more miserable hole .... if you're not careful.
Some people do .... and have, successfully, got around varioua problems/issues by invoking previously set Restore Points, but, in doing that, whatever's been installed/entered since that Resore Point is set will also, probbably, be lost too.
AGAIN .... try to work the problem .... OR RATHER .... seek advce through either the AVSIM or FLIGHTSIM forums or from the program/utility vendor supplier .... bUT .... in seeking such advice, then, be "very specificic" in regard to your explanation of what you've installed, where you've installed it, and precisely how you've actually done so.
YOU SEE .... from my personal experience (and I do see a lot of this even at HJG) people often tell communicate only part of the story/what they've done to arrive at a certain problem (obviosly because they don't want to look complete idiots in the event they've made a silly mistake .... I appreciate that), but, in doing so it also often disadvantages those whom can, or try, to help from being able to get to/identify the prime root of the problem and quickly.
Sometimes .... it's better to look a complete idiot .... BUT .... manage to solve a problem completely and easily/efficiently.
I don't know if anyone on the HJG forums can assist with your prticular prolem (our knowledgge base here is good .... but .... it's also often limited to certain things/details .... and which is why I sugested canavasing the AVSIM and FLIGHTSIM forums for additioal assistance .... if not the program/utility vendor itself) BUT, I do like to, and like to see HJG also, try to work in accordance with the philosdophy that "no question is ever a stupid one" .... if it's asked out of genuine need or a thirst for knowledge .... and especially if it's ultimately going to aid more folk than whom might be conmfident enouggh to ssk any question/seek help in the first instance.
"PAUSE FURTHER" .... and do "consider" (at least) what I've communicated/suggested here also.

Good News,
With the help of Google, and I was able to find a solution to my problem, for now anyway. (Scenery.Cfg) Whether it holds up is another thing. So, I've saved countless hours from having to reinstall everything.Worse than that, I read a post that said he or she re installed 3 times and still no luck. He (or she) had a Scenery.CFG error of some kind.
Thanks for all your help.

SEE .... I told you you could do it It takes a bit of time and effort .... and sometimes one needs to look outside the HJG forum in order to find the answers (to particular problems thar aren't HJG product generated or that we/HJG often can't assist with), but, the information is.... generally .... out there .... somewhere Mr GOOGLE is often ....
