Hi all, odd problem, I can no longer access ATIS at EGKK, I'm sure I could before now it doesn't seem to be there, it's not even an option on the FS ATC pop up, searching the internet it would seem the problem is caused by the frequency that EGKK ATIS is set at namely 136.52, which cannot be set on the com1. which only goes to 136.00, is there a way of altering the frequency in FS for that airport? NB. this is FS2004 not FSX and the operating system is Windows XP I've got airac 1504 if that makes any difference?
Thanks in advance,
mog

It may be missing from FS "MOG" .... or there might be an FS limitation associated with it requiring another option to be applied. I've tried 136.00, 136.52, and 136.55 .... and I'm not getting the Gatwick ATIS either. Also tried going to 128.47 too .... whih I understand is an earlier/older ATIS frequency for EGKK, but, similarly without success also Have a look at this AVSIM forum thread regarding the matter .... forum.avsim.net/topic/249107-egkk-frequencies/Mark C AKL/NZ

Hello again Mark, Thanks for the prompt response, I've had another play and as you say 136.525 can be set on the com. but with no response, it's interesting to note that if you go to alt-world-map and click on EGKK the list of coms includes ATIS as 136.525 which corresponds to JEPPESSEN, I did find a mention in an old thread on AVSIM which mentioned changing the .bgl ( I think that was it )file, although god knows how one accesses it or when found how one opens it!
I've tried to access the link you sent me but I get a message saying it's not available at this time so I'll have to sit on my thumbs for that one!

I'm getting that too .... per the above link .... and also when I physically go to the AVSIM website .... so .... I guess their service must be down at the moment.
Try it afgain later ....

I'm not sure myself .... since I don't mess around with that stuff, but, I imagine it's the component within any FS airport AFCAD file that designates the particular radio, and NAV aid, frequencies for any such airport .... I imagine.
Short of an explanatory "HOW TO" tutorial .... I wouldn't know how to go about editing it in order to add new or different radio frequecies though.

Ok matey, I'll have a look for AFCAD files in FS, I might if I get a bit of down time go to AVSIMs' forum and ask the question (I'm a member) I know the thread was an old one but it's worth a shot.

I just modified my copy of EGKK to have an ATIS freq. of 136.00.. took me about 10 seconds. I can send it along or modify it to whatever frequency is needed. If you have a copy of AFCAD, you can modify it easily by opening the LIST header and then opening the COMM submenu, highlight the freq. you want to change, hit Properties, make the change, close and then save the changes.

Ok Mike,
That's pretty much what the blokes at AVSIM said, FS has a limited useable frequency range that stops at 135.00, meaning anything above that will not be attainable even though it's shown on the ATC popup, the answer is as you say Mike, to modify the frequency using AFCAD (payware?) or ADE (freeware), (I like the sound of that!). All the responses I received can be viewed on AVSIMs' forum under the "Hints and Tips" heading, title "ATIS for EGKK", I did find another reference to this problem elsewhere on the web, that claimed it was a long standing issue, indeed going back to the beginning of MSFS. (Pontius was still training to be a Pilate then!) the fault resting in Microsoft's lap, if that's the case maybe I never could get ATIS in the past must be early onset something or the other!
Many thanks for all the help

AFCAD utility is freeware by Lee Swordy, you can download it from flightsim.com, file name: afcad221.zip, as Mike mentioned, you can modify the ATIS according to the EGKK scenery you have installed.
