I recently began flying the Convair 880. I would like to use the com 2 radio at times. I assigned keys in FS to switch between com 1 and com2. FS makes the switch but I can't receive or transmit on com 2. What do I need to do to make com 2 work. Thanks for your help.

I never use the FS supplied ATC (I simply don't like it) fascility, but, so far as I'm aware .... all ATIS, and ATC, in FS2004, and with these simulations too, works through COMM1 only .... and which is the case also with all MSFS default aircraft as well.
COMM2 ishowever functional, as such, in all HJG simulations
I think there's a means by which COMM2 can be made/used to receive, and transmit, but, I'm not actually sure how it's done.
I also don't like the default ATC but I use it. You can transmit and receive on Comm 2 as well as receive on both Comm 1 and Comm 2 at the same time with the default ATC. The Comm 2 is available in the aircraft.cfg. Hopefully someone knows what I'm missing. Thanks for your response.
Well I did discover through some testing that I can use Com 2 it's just that I need to load the Cessna 172 first. I haven't checked any other planes but Com 2 works fine in the Convair using my key assignments if I load the Cessna first. Go figure. By the way the Convair 880 is a great airplane. I really enjoy flying it.

Based on whatever edits you've needed to apply to get COM2 working .... that (loading the default MSFS CESSNA .... and I'd suggest any other default MSFS aircrasft type) makes "PERFECT SENsE" to me .... because FS will always, by default, transfer ones last/previous aircraft/panel configuration across to any other following default, or add-on, aircraft selection loaded during the same FS session .... "IF" you get my drift
In fact loading the default MSFS CESSNA, or any other default MSFS aircraft (in FS2004 or FSX), is something I've recommended folk should always do in advance of selecting any HJG, or other add-on, aircraft/panel selection .... and do the same again also whenever changing between aircraft type/panels within the same FS session too .... and letting FS stabilize, first, between such selection/re-selections.
