As the DC-9's passenger days are basically over in the States, how about a private model for modern flying? This one is actually for sale, as it's owner, Pittsburgh billionaire Richard Scaife, passed away recently. Looks like a really nice ride! If we all pooled are allowances... If you follow some of the links, you'll see that he apparently owned a Convair at one point with the same registration. Also note that the DC-9 initially carried a classic paint scheme similar to the Convair. That's the one I'd most like to see! She's an old Northeast -15 that survived into the Delta merger. Scaife took delivery in 1971. Note the EFIS cockpit modification in the sale listing from DanAir (just a curiosity: no need for anyone to modify the current panel). flickr.com SearchJetPhotos Photo SearchAirliners.net Photo SearchDanAir Aviation Listing
