Hi all, I have recently started using FSCaptain here and am loving it. Works in both FS2004 and FSX and basically allows you to fly in your own virtual airline. You can use one of the included airlines or create your own and even lets you us an AI file to create the flying for you. I have been busy setting up my own Thair Airways 1971 and 1979 using time tables available on the net. In the snow and ice, you have to de-ice your aircraft and if you have GSX in FSX it will call the equipment for you. You can also create a hub out of a city and it will give you pax or freight charts with up to two legs doing a triangle back to your hub. Great for small GA aircraft. You can swap between the airlines available or that you have created and they are constantly adding more options to the program. There are too many options to add here, but I can tell you I just love it! Cheers, Nathan BNE/AUS

Hello Nathan, I'm playing with the thought to acquire FSCaptain. How do you start this program? Once you're inside FS9? Does this program affect the performance of the PC? How much does it cost?
Greetings,
Hermann Austria

Hi Herman, if you like virtual airline flying this is great as there is no pressure to do a minimum number of hours etc. There are two elements to the program, one is the flight planning resource that gives you the option of which flights fly for that particular airline out of the place you have chosen to fly out of and the others is the actual "acars" system that runs with the sim. I have found no loss of frametates at all with the acars running. You also have utilities to create your own airlines including creating an airline from an AI flight plan. You can add your own aircraft and adjust what you are rated on (turning off seatbelt sign, starting meal service, reporting points etc) so you can make it as hard or easy as you want. You can also create an airline by selecting a base,, which is good if you want to fly a C182 from an Alaskan base on freight or passenger runs or want to set up a Business Jet Charter business. You can fly pax, freight, a mixture of both. You can fly scheduled or it gives you the options to fly charters. The best thing is, it's constantly being improved and updated with, like HJG , the developers constantly helping on the forums. Many ideas that are put forward on the forums become part of future updates so they do listen (once again like HJG) Maybe check out their forum. fscaptain.proboards.comI hope this answers some questions and in my opinion, it's money well spent . Cheers, Nathan.
