Very nice. Love the pic of the DH Comet Travel Agent display Model. Herman Yes, I like that semi-transparent model of the comet, too. I used to look at them models when I was a kid as my parents were to buy tickets in travel agencies of airlines. I wonder, if you can still buy the older ones and how much they cost.

Oh yeah, I can see now, they aren't too cheap. Anyway, thx for the nice link Btw, I always loved the design of the Me 262, to be seen behind the KLM-Jumbo pic. Also, I got the Super Connie in Lufthansa-Livery from Revell Germany. These planes are real lookers!

The REVELL SUPER CONSTELLATION kit is actually "quite old" .... and not and good as the other REVELL-GERMANY released kits. The best CONSTELLATION kits are/were those produced by HELLER (of France) .... whom did both the L-749 .... www.modellversium.de/galerie/18-flugzeuge-zivil/4331-lockheed-l-749-constellation-heller.html.... and the L-1049 (with tip tanks) .... modelingmadness.com/review/civil/mansconnie.htmand EC-121 WARNING STAR conversion of these aircraft too .... www.oldmodelkits.com/index.php?detail=14101HELLER is gone now .... BUT .... some stocks are still obtainable in some places around the world or can be traded privately at quite reasonable rates. AIRFIX re-released the HELLER L-1049 several years ago .... and that particular release might be more readily obtained aroundf Europe and the UK. The beauty of the HELLER kit/s (all 3 of them) is that these represent far more recent technology/tooling than is evident per that of the old REVELL kit .... and being 1/72 scale these are much larger kits too .... as opposed the much smaller REVELL released version, but, which is also more readily obtainable today. The REVELL SUPER CONSTELLATION kit is actually "quite old" .... and not and good as the other REVELL-GERMANY released kits. I bought this kit somewhere 1988-90, but I was very proud of having it due to the fact, that it was my first painted one. 3 propellers were moving, but the last one somehow sticked to the engine, because I wasn't careful enough when glueing it. It's funny, because some years later I learned that the real Super Constellation was called "The best three-motored plane"(one of the engines was often not functional) I`ll keep my eyes open for this Airfix/Heller-kit. Thx for your advise. Hermann

I've never heard of any of the CONSTELLATION or STARLINER series being referred to as "the best 3-engined aeroplane".
These were 4-engined aircraft .... of course .... and nor have I ever heard of any reference to non-functionality/unreliability among any of its 4 engines either.
It was a very powerful aircraft .... SO .... I suppose any reference to 3-engines could simply mean that 3-engine operations, by these aircraft (in the event of an engine failure), was never a major problem .... due to their massive power !!!!
Tom GIBSON .... might like to comment in regard to this .... if he pokes his head around the door (sees this posting) .... so to speak.

In the meantime I copy and paste a part from the german wiki-article ref "Lockheed super constellation":
Please try to translate it per google or sth else.
