Greeting to all, and yes I have several questions on AI stuff. I am rebuilding my FSX program, as I had so much loaded it was getting super slow to load, and was getting some conflicts. I'm in the process of loading AI and have been using woai which loads itself and I just have to convert the traffic bgl files to FSX. I'm using AIFP2. I was using the new version, but it would delete my files instead of converting them. At any rate I'm now installing AI files that come in 2 zip files, one Fleet file and the other Flightplans. Now then the question I have is the Flightplans file. The fleet I understand one just needs to unzip, install in FSX Simobjects, Airplanes and it's there. But Flightplan folder contains 3 txt files, Aircraft, Airports, and Flightplans. Does one have to load all three of those into the AIFP program? I thought all I had to do was load the Flightplans one and then convert it to FSX. But what about the airports, and Aircraft txt files? The more I read the user manual, the more confused I get. (AGE). Anyway if anyone has any thoughts, please let me know, I appreciate any and all suggestions.

Hi Denny, I also use WOAI's installer, it's a stand alone program for both FS9 and FSX and only installs WOAI ai traffic packages. There is no need to convert anything, if used in FSX the program even configures and installs the aisound folder.

Agreed with Benoit's post. WOAI is wonderful!!!!!!
WARNING: if you install TOO MUCH airline packages, it will bog down and slow down your FSX. Just limit to few airline packages and you will be happy.
I put reasonable amounts of airline packages on my FSX.

Aharon

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. I did use WOAI for their stuff, but I have other AI traffic also, and I finally figured out how to install them using AIFP programs. Aharon, what is to much? I just checked and I have about 100 different airlines installed for many parts of the world, and yes I'm getting very slow FPS. I had just as many prior to reinstalling FSX, and had most frame rates in the mid 40's to 60's depending on location. What do you consider a reasonable amount? Falcon, aka Denny

I just checked and I have about 100 different airlines installed for many parts of the worldWhat do you consider a reasonable amount? Mine is about 30. 100 is too much strain on your FSX. EL AL Arkia Israir JetBlue Fed Ex Alaska Airline Air Canada WestJet Winair Insel Air KLM Flybe Finnair Air France Air Caribes Cayman Airways Air Jamaica Caribbean Airlines NAC Northern Air Cargo Few local based Caribbean airlines such as Winair Hawaiian Airline Norwegian Airline SAS airline I might have missed few ones. The other thing you can do to enjoy a reasonable amount of AI is to turn down the percentage. I set mine for both commercial and GA at 80% then I find that major airports are not overly burdened by a/c sitting at stands but not actually doing anything other than consume valuable RAM.

80%? Wow, I don't set it over 40%. Usually it's around 25 to 35%. Of course I'm running a very very old computer. Thanks to all. Falcon
