It's really all a question of time "KLAUSFLY" Many of these subjects are indeed already available within the HJG inventory .... for e.g. - ES AWACS (in earlier P&W fanjet form .... the CFM version will need to wait until Gary's ready) - The Husk Kitted B720-B also basicly means another model .... i.e time ! - B367-80 is already available in it's original 1954 form. There may be a fanjet version of it with VHF tail atenae uploaded in the future , but, I don't think we'll be seeing the B727 P&W JT8D test bed version. - INDY AIR CV880-M .... "YES" .... that's more of a possibility. In fact I already have all the necessary references for this one. It''s then just a question of someone elses time .... as is indeed the Luftwaffe B707-320C too. I don't know about the prototype B720 versions being done .... unless someone else here feels that strongly about painting them, but, certainly the Eastern B720-A is available for download. Good ideas "KLAUSFLY" .... and your imput is most appreciated, but, it's all just a question of time .... and personal appeal of these subjects to our modellers and painters alike Mark C AKL/NZ

Another suggestion:
How about, let's say "The evolution of the Dash 80"? I mean models/repaints of the 367-80 from the beginning til the current state as shown in the museum of Flight (?) ?

Once again, that's a good idea "KLAUSFLY" .... and I do agree with you in principal. However, as I said before, it's really a question of time (being available) and appeal of these projects to our modellers and painters. We never like to pressure any of our team into anything In fact I never pressure anyone into doing anything at all .... just ask Tony ;D ;D ;D Mark C AKL/NZ

A question about the CV 990
Is/was there a prototype of the CV 990 such as the CV 880?

No problem at all "KLAUSFLY". It's a sensible question .... and a sensible question is always worthy of a reasonable response in my book. OK .... See my 2 articles on the "AIRCRAFT HISTORIES" page of our forum .... entitled "CONVAIR CALAMITY (part 1) - THE CV880" and also "CONVAIR CALAMITY (part 2) - THE CV990"). To save time (don't forget Convair/General Dynamics were already well behind both Boeing, and Douglas, in terms of development time) both CV880 & CV990 went straight into production. There was no prototype or developmental aircraft as such of either (those cost money .... and more time) .... quite different from the case of B707 & DC8. "SHIP ONE" examples of each were used for certification and of both aircraft before being sold-off. For e.g. CV880 "SHIP ONE" was used to complete the certification process for the standard model -22 from December 1959. Then in 1961 it was modified to "-22M" standard during in support of that versions certification before being sold to TWA during October 1961 .... TWA later restored it to a standard -22 during 1965 because they wanted fleet uniformity. It was similar for CV990 "SHIP ONE" too. The first production aircraft was used for certification of both the standard version during 1961, and then the modified CV990-A during 1962 which came about by necessity. It was eventually sold to NASA during November 1964 and was written-off in their service on April 12th 1973 as the result of a mid-air collision with a US Navy P3 near Moffet AFB California. Have a read of those articles anyway. I'm sure they'll teach you everything you'll ever want to know about the Convair jetliners Mark C AKL/NZ

I've read them all. Great articles! Is there any chance for a downloadable repaint here on the side?

You keeness for the US NAVY UC880 is obvious ! You've actually duplicated the same link twice ;D It's fine to make all these suggestions. We both respect and appreciate your interest and support .... but .... we must first consider both the likely popularity of any subject along with its historical contribution to aviation before bothering investing in it. Apat from that the geopgraphical interests/preferences of our painters always takes absolute precedence .... of course. Whilst these are all "possibilities" I wouldn't count of any of these subjects being relised soon .... especially considering the work we already have on-hand and awaiting uploading .... more than 60 ne an upgraded files. I can however say a long time suppporter of HJG is already considering doing the US NAVY UC-880 .... but .... this will be at his absolute convenience of course. Thanks for your support and interest. It is appreciated Mark C AKL/NZ

I have time to wait. As you said they are just suggestions. I've just flown the USN DC-8 and spotted a little "mistake" at the back on the plane's texture: It's the rear door. It's only a little "mistake". Klaus Hullermann
