I've always had a huge interest in British built jetliners, most specially the Tridents, a short and medium range airliner of 1960s-1970s-1980s. David Maltby released great models for the Trident 2 & 3 a number of years ago for FS2004, freeware. Works in FSX. www.dmflightsim.co.uk/hs121_trident.htmSoundpacks that I compiled. Those are "NICE"" Benoit Feel free to correct me ifr I'm wrong here Benoit .... but .... the RR SPEY 512 is the next engine type up from the RR SPEY 511. The -512 was only used on the later larger and heavier BAC ONE ELEVEN (the -400 and -500) .... and the later larger and heavier TRIDENT 3 aircraft also .... and exhibited "slightly different" audio characteristics that the earlier -512 engine .... although both were equally as "LOUD" as each other This' a nice gift/addition Benoit .... congratulations Mark C AKL/NZ

Mark, you're right, the Spey-512 were the last/top of their class at the time, they were a bit more powerful then that Spey-511 and were used on the BAC 1-11-475s (shorter frame) for hot and high operations, and the BAC 1-11-500s. They also powered the Trident 2E (extended range) and the Trident 3B which had an extra 5,000lbs thrust booster engine housed in the tail for additional power if needed. Regards Benoit

Hi friends:
Little late: but the BAC 1-11 -s by D. Malthby are also a very good simulations and have superior flying qualities and the real things had also RR Speys. The RR Speys (511-8) were also used in the luxiourious Grumman Gulfstreams II and III and various military airplanes.
Regarding loudness: Flew as pax in the Trident and the 111 inside they were not loud at all.
The Trident simulation by DM flightsim offers also the experience of a hands off landing following the real procedures.
Kind regards
Walter

HJG "DOWNLOADS" section See "SOUNDS". Select either "ONE-ELEVEN, COMET, TRIDENT, and VC10" tabs .... then select the "Benoit PLAMONDON" files version but be sure to select either the FS2004 or FSX files only in accordance with your FS version of choise. ALSO .... see the "BAC ONE-ELEVEN, DH106 COMET, HS121 TRIDENT, VC10 and VC10-C1K" manuals on the following linked DAVID MALTBY FLIGHT SIM SUPPORT" forum page .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/board/37/david-maltby-flight-support-forum.... in order to know which aircraft type/engine type sound packs should be used with each aircraft type base packs. All the necessary information is there Mark C AKL/NZ
