VARIG 990A - Can you help me?

Hi folks,

I love the HJG 's models. I feel for few models of Brazil in the downloads. Transbrasil i love it (i read your post about new paint's requests, ;-) ) .

But i've a problem. I can't turn on the lights of VARIG Convair 990A , the tail 's light. Is the light of interior (passenger) is possible too? The PREVIEW of VARIG in HJG site show me with it's possible.

Can you help me?

Technically speaking .... none of the CV990's should really show an illuminated tail surface at night.

This's because tail logo lighting/illumination didn't come into vogue among airlines until around the mid 1970's. Their inclusion in this case is really only "artist license" on the part of that particular texture author.

Both tail surface and cabin window illumination/effects for all our aircraft are per texture light maps (I think) and work automatically during transition from virtual day to night within the FS environment.

There are no panel switches or keyboard commands that activate/deactivate these particular night lighting effects.

Lighting switches on the HJG CV880/990 panel control navigation, beacon, and landing lights only .... with possibly a splash of landing light reflection against forward lower fuselage surfaces.

When FS operate the virtual transition the Covair doesn't turn on cabin (passenger) automatically. I tested with others aircrafts and the effect works fine.

The nights textures of Convair doesn't work fine?

In the night convair is a BLACK SHADOW... (only lights like as strobe, wings, etc. turn on).

Interesting !!!!

This then suggests a problem with the night lighting textures on that particular aircraft .... which surprises me becuse that particular texture set has been on offer for some 3 years with no mention of any bug by anyone.

I'll have a look at it myself when I can next get into FS .... probably later during the week.

Hi,

Many virtual pilots (about 90%) prefer flight at daylight. I always flight the VARIG 990A in the day, but i flight a looooong flight (max. range of aircraft) and i observer this problem.

If you change a texture, please include the registration on the Wings. It's defined by law of D.A.C. (the "FAA"brazilian) a many times ago. The real Convair used it. Only the newest airplanes (with composite materials) and expressly recommended by manufacturer doesn't show it (lika 3 trilple seven (only at this time) , the DAC returns to me). The Boeing (all) or oldest aircrafts use it.

I have downloaded the VARIG Convair as I thought if there was a problem I reckoned I knew what it was.

However the light work as they should

If the lights are on then the cabin windows and tail flood are on

If the lightss are off then there are no lights at all.......this is what I would expect

Martin.................does you problem occur with other CV990 paints?

It might be an idea to re download the VARIG in case you files have got corrupted

I've looked at the CV990 textures and one wing does both sides

This means one side would be back to front

It is not possible to put registrations on the wings.

Garry is absolutely correct !

This unfortunately is one of the current CV990 model/texture limitations.

The CV990 model was made for HJG by another author and not by our own team.
