Hi everyone, sorry that it's been a while since I have had an update but I have been sooooo busy in my personal life that I have had no FS time.
Todays video is the end of flight JL411 which is Tokyo to Anchorage before continuing on to Europe. After flying all night, the crew make a nice final approach in good conditions before off to the hotel for a cuppa and then sleep.
I hope you enjoy the video, feel free to comment here or on the YouTube page. If you do like it, make sure to hit the thumbs up and if you want to get the latest videos as they are uploaded, feel free to subscribe.
Cheers,
Nathan.

Nice video Nathan. You surely have great sceneries in your FS installed (I assume that you're using FSX according to the moving vehicles at the gate). Also the approach looks nice and smooth, too.

That is AMAZING video!! Great clouds and great waters!! Totally amazing video
You must have been using brand new POWERFUL computer.
I have question for Mark: Are the DC-8 -10 series, -20 series, -30 series, -40 series, and -50 series supposed to use little black engine smoke during runway approach and landing? Just want to be sure my future screenshots are realistic.
Regards,
Aharon

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply. I did use FSX for this video, with Aerosoft Anchorage for the airport. I also have ORBX Vector, Global, North America and FTX Trees, which for me is the one group of sceneries you must have for FSX (just wait for their sales).
My computer is an i7 at 4.00 MHz (unclocked) with a GTX 770 and 16 gig ram on Win7 64bit. I will often record the really dense scenery that requires a lot of processing power at half or one third speed so the computer can render as much as possible and be as smoooooth as possible. I then speed the video up while editing back to the proper speed (good tip for smooth videos on any system). The only thing is that you also need to record another video at normal speed so you can use the sound from that recording instead of the sped up one. Then the tweaking to get all the sounds to match with what's going on e.g. landing squeal and reverse thrust.
With the above video, I didn't use any time compression as the sim handled all of the scenes with all the sliders at max and frames locked at 30 so it saved me lots of time.
Am looking at making more videos in FS9, but EZdoc camera 2 has such nice camera effects when recording, that I keep getting called back to FSX
Thank you all so much for your kind words and if I can help anyone with their videos, please don't hesitate to ask.
Cheers,
Nathan.

Hi Nathan,
very nice video! You can see the differents in the graphcis of FSX compared to FS9. But, I personally prefer more the sceneries of FS9 for movies. The last weeks I tried FSX, which I bought a long time ago, but i am not so satisfied withe the results of making videos and also there a so many hints and tricks to make this simulator runs smoothly. Finally, i have to wait until i upgrade my system - my current one is simple to week, but handles FS9 very good. Which camera do you recommend to use in FS9?
Regards Michael

Very nice video, love the graphics Nathan Michael, I've been relying on tricks and tips on how to tweak FSX for ever it seems, most times now with success. I ran into a major snag a few months ago as I tried to install an ORBX scenery, I was apprehensive about doing so and knowing full well how sensitive and easily one can mess up an FS install with some of these add-ons and automatic installers, but I took the bite and installed it as I really liked how the scenery looked, and sure enough it has messed up my entire scenery library even after removing ORBX, I've been trying ever since to try and fix my mess with all sorts of advice and research from different forums, including using the original FSX discs to try and repair, but to no avail. I know the inevitable has to happen, which is uninstall and and re-install which is very time consuming. Benoit

Hi Michael, I find the best thing for cameras in fs9 is the free FS Recorder www.fs-recorder.net/downloads.phpI use FS Recorder at points during the flight instead of the "replay" mode built into the sim as it is so much smoother when playing back. It also records the AI aircraft for playback too. The cameras in the program work fantastically. I should mention at this point that it doesn't "record" the sim into a video format, much rather it's a greatly improved playback mode that you can then record from using Fraps etc. Benoit, OMG I'm so shocked to hear you news . Have you tried using "FSX Scenery Config Editor"? link It has modes that finds errors and corrects them, plus it is the easiest way, I think, of managing your sceneries. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, Cheers, Nathan
