Upon looking at some 707 landing videos. I noticed the slats move in when reverse thrust is selected (see yt link) youtu.be/5dpFLssaSXwmy first question is A. Can this be done on the hjg 707? And B. Was this only a late model 707 modification and was its purpose to cancel the lift upon landing. kind regards

"LE Kruger Flaps" .... on the B707's/720's/C135 SERIES
Not using the current models .... although their engine sucker doors do work on the basil of FLAP 20 and more than 755% power being applied.
I don't know, but, suspect it applied to the -320B ADV and C only .... and "YES" (partly) because once on the ground the LE Kruger Flaps have effectively done their work, but, my understanding is also that the partial retraction is to avoid potential for damage when reverse is pulled-on. Similar applies to the B747's too .... and which "IS" replicated within the POSKY models by Hiroshi IGAMI.

There was no consideration to lift "destruction" in the operation of the LE flaps. The ground spoiler deployment prior to this would have done that pretty effectively. It was 100% to reduce damage and FOD issues that were possible from the core reversers that were fitted on the TF33/JT3D. The only reason you don't see them on "early" versions was simply that the operator didn't install the modification when they upgraded the airplane from the original JT4 turbojets which didn't have this issue.
