No problem Bob. The PW test bird is definitely a unique aircraft. Question is - if Gary was to model it, which configuration would he do it in? At one time it had a massive 8-bladed turboprop in that massive nosecone. If FS allowed you to "cut and paste" modules, it might work since you could have the model itself with all of the mounting surfaces and then click on what equipment you want attached and the flight model would automatically be adjusted for it... Oh well, dreaming again...

Mmm... maybe 3 models with 3 configs.... 1: Huge prop on front pylon 2: V2500 on right inner 3: Small engine on nose pylon
But does anyone know where the hatch-like structure on the roof is for? Can they lift an engine out of the fuselage or something (just like the Tu-16 engine testbed where they lowered the test subject from the bomb bay)

I think it's the weather radar, because they need the space for the testings of the turbo-prop engines.

He's talking about the bare-metal backbone. I think it's some sort of cooling panel, not a hatch. They have a lot of equipment inside, so it could be a heat-exchanger underneath that section of skin, so it's unpainted because of the heat produced.

I think if I did this it would end up having no additional motors, especially the turbo prop. I'm just thinking there is no way to make it all work (or appear to work) correctly. Gary
