1. what is it: Chinese copy of 707 using the same engine attachments on slightly different fusleage and wing 2. Did it fly; Yes. two build, one for static testing, the other one did make a promotional flight somewhere in 1980. 3. Why was it cancelled: Politics and Shanghai Aircraft got the rights for license producing MD80s so they didnt need this one anymore
Basically the request is: is there anyone at HJG who is willing to create this unique aircraft... as it shares some common parts with existing models and because it has 707 heritage in it

They used spare 707 engines otherwise it differs greatly.
It was never said to be a copy at the time but a new design influenced by the Boeing 707
It certaily looks differrent in detail.
