Aye Mark... A Golden Horned Narwhal (bacon at midnight?) even. Anyways, should have it more complete later this week, but this will be the end of the Alaska things from me for a bit... or will it... Found this one quite by accident looking at odd sites for airplane pics, came up in a search for a totally unrelated search (for Morris Air 737s) somehow but bookmarked it, researched it, and voila!

I couldn't fine much/any information regarding this carrier (obviously a turism oriented travel club) .... other than this particular aircraft (N64740) having been one of the rare ec-BRANIFF B707-220's .... a hot'n'high version of the B707-120 and of which only 5 were ever built by BOEING .... all having been delivered to BRANIFF during 1959 and 60 .... CLUB ALASKA B707-227 N64740 (1979)Got any further derails regarding CLUB ALASKA ... .thesbject operator Pete ? Mark C AKL/NZ

Got any further derails regarding CLUB ALASKA ... .thesbject operator Pete ? Mark C AKL/NZ Sorry Mark I really don't except where there are photos from. Club Alaska Travel existed for about 30 years, it finally ceased to exist in 92 as far as I can tell but this plane only served them for one season in 77 then again in 79, leased to others in between. During the 79 period is seems it did an around-the-world type charter. Otherwise it seems to have sat at Boeing Field in storage for long periods of time. Club Alaska also did trips on Skyways and Denver Ports of Call aircraft that I've found info on... and even then I don't know how reliable the info is. Travel Clubs are one of those interesting footnotes in airline service... but yes they have almost no consistent routes or destinations. The only facts I have for sure: N7074 Braniff International Airways 21.01.60 Left Fleet 9Y-TDP BWIA International 27.03.71 Left Fleet N64740 Ronair 17.09.76 Left Fleet N64740 Club Alaska 22.06.77 Left FleetN64740 Aero International 26.10.77 Left Fleet N64740 Transasian 03.78 Left Fleet N64740 Saudi Arabian Airlines 10.78 Left Fleet N64740 Club Alaska 10.79 Scrapped

It was really more historical facts concerning their operations .... rather than actual photos .... I was curious in regard to. Being a travel club they could have, and probably did in fact, go anywhere. I couldn't find anything about them online though .... "within the time I had available to search" I mean. Got a lot on at he moment Mark

Yea I know there is not a lot of information out there on Club Alaska... The new version pulls 90% of the results... But has nothing to do with the 707. I only found a couple old forum posts on them so again don't know how reliable the info is.
