It's been quite a while since I've been here, and I recently found an aircraft in a scheme that has caught my eye. An ex-Garuda DC-9-30 painted in their newest livery. This aircraft, PK-GNT, has an interesting story. It was built in 1979 and was written-off after a severely hard landing in Bali in 1993, but instead of scrapping it, the airline sent the aircraft to the Jakarta Transportation Museum in 1998. It's been sitting there since, but it is under excellent care and was repainted into GIA's new livery recently. I'm not sure whether or not this would count as a fantasy livery. We can't say this livery is real because it was never used on the DC-9s while they were in service, but we can't say it's fake either because it's on a real airplane!

Funny...I just wrote a little tale about this bird on my Facebbok page. Years ago it was dragged off the beach near Denpasar Airport and into a lightly wooded area. I remember wandering down to the runway from my hotel in the evenings to plane spot and 
getting into this DC-9 for a look around. They have really done a fantastic job restoring her.
