Can't agree more "From my own personal perspective" and despite liking all civil aviation .... I tend to feel it's lost a lot of its character today .... BUT THERE AGAIN .... I come from another generation (on the same planet though ) and tend compare what it is (today) with what it was (yesterday) .... only what it "WAS" appeals to more to me than what it "IS" or has become .... if one gets my drift. I s'pose it's a generational thing .... to the extent most of us will always favor what we grew up around (I'm glad I flew on DC-8's and DC-10's throughout the 70's and 80's) and were mostly influenced by. And I further s'pose "this current generation" might probably feel similarly in regard to aviation of today some 20, 30, and 40 years from now .... and by which time we'll be way into an altogether different age of aviation evolution. I guess most of us look forward to going forward, but as we do so, many of us also can't help looking backwards too .... only its with great deal of passion that we do so Nice texture Jim Mark C AKL/NZ

Jim,
I hope this finds you doing well. I must say this is an absolutely beautiful job. I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to recreate this historic aircraft in response to my humble request. Superior talent in your abilities would be an understatement here.
I am sincerely and most grateful.
V/R,
Casey

Hey, Jim. That’s great to hear, my friend. That’s really what’s great about hjg and what Marc, Tony, you and everyone else involved has done and continues to do. Of course, flying the planes is fun, but it has done something a bit greater for me. With our brothers and sisters at calclassic and similar forums, it’s given us a chance to really go back in time and allow us to live and learn the past and explore moments in global history. The aircraft your painting has some special significance for me. I had the opportunity to board this aircraft once. Inside of it on one of the bulkheads was a map of the world and annotated on it were all the countries this aircraft carried our national leaders at the time. Very fascinating to say the least. What struck me most was that every time President Kennedy, Vice President Johnson, Secretary of State Rusk and others showed up to these places, the first thing people saw upon there arrival was the aircraft they were flying in. Here is a neat video about one of the trips this aircraft you are working on took: m.youtube.com/watch?v=4v9t2dSlsV0Thanks again, Jim. I remain most appreciative. V/R, Casey

That is a pretty plane although I do think the current blue is a better choice. But the 707 is always always one smart looking birdy.

Jim, all I can say here is “wow.” I can’t think of any words that could express the paramount quality of work here with this aircraft. Absolutely first class.
