Rust never sleeps .... be it in metallic or USAIR forms .... only this latest B733 texture, by Erik, is reflective of both .... being a 1991 transitional/hybrid livery composed of the airlines late 1980's era 2-tone red with maroon striping (shades of rust) over natural metal fuselage with it's early 1990's introduced titles and tail livery .... this combination of which (as appeared on N592US during 1991) make for "quite a rare hybrid" as USAIR B733 liveries are concerned .... USAIR B737-301 N592US - transitional livery (1991)"NICE FIND" and reproduction Erik Mark C AKL/NZ

A couple new B721 classics by Erik .... both from "The Land Downunder/The Great Southern Continent" (otherwise known as "The West Island Of New Zealand") .... and representative of the 1970's era .... B727-77C ANSETT AIRLINES OF AUSTRALIA - ABBA tor of Australia) VH-RMS (1977)Swedish pop group ABBA were top of the charts throughout most of the 1970's period and toured Australia during 1977 .... performing in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth. ANSETT B721C VH-RMS became the official transport for the group, and it's entourage, as well as airlifting sound equipment from city to city in aid of the groups concerts. Throughout the duration of this tour VH-RMS supported titles bearing groups name .... "ABBA" (in their logotype) .... within the lower left section of its port side forward fuselage main deck cargo door. VH-RMS ultimately became "the last" B727-100 to remain in service with ANSETT .... the airline retired it from service on January 29th 1980. B727-77 ANSETT AIRLINES OF AUSTRALIA - last flight tribute VH-RME (1978)B727-VH-RME was ANSETT ANA's the first B727. It was ordered by the airline during 1963, and first flew from BOEING/Seattle on September 21st 1964, and was delivered to the airline on September 29th 1964. It's delivery flight to Melbourne/Australia (operated via San Francisco, Honolulu, Canton Island, and Nadi/Fiji) became the first crossing of the Pacific Ocean by a 3-engined aircraft since Australian aviation pioneers Charles KINGSFORD-SMITH and Charles ULM epic flight aboard their FOKKER F-VIIB/3M TRIMOTOR VH-USU (named "Southern Cross") during 1928. VH-RME entered service with ANSETT on November 2nd 1964 .... and served the airline until September 12th 1978 when it was withdrawn from service having accumulated 43,110 hours total flying time. This particular was not only the first, but also, the very last standard B721 to remain in service with ANSETT (superseded by B727-100C VH-RMS which wasn't retired until January 1980). It was sold to INTERNATIONAL AIR LEASES and ferried to the the USA during January 1980. For this last service this aircraft supported a legend on it port side nose reading .... "GOOD BYE VH-RME ! 1964 - 1979 AUSTRALIA's FIRST DOMESTIC JET".... applied over the airlines definitive red/black/white delta livery of the period. Some nice history there Erik .... "THANK YOU" for these Mark C AKL/NZ

They certainly appreciate their whimsical marine life in Japan, and here are two more liveries as evidence of that In late 2012, JTA painted JA8939 as part of a tie-in with Okinawa's Churaumi Aquarium, representing one of the whale sharks kept there. In Japan, they're called "jinbei-zame" for their resemblance to the patterns of jinbei (casual housewear). In early 2014, it was joined by a female companion named "Sakura Jinbei" painted on JA8992. Both have been retired, but the liveries have been kept on two of JTA's newer 737-800s. Enjoy!

WELL .... what can I say in regard to these 2 "masterpieces" of FS art ? Think I'll just let the pictures (I mean "Erik's textures") do all the talking .... Erik's texturing sais it all just as well, if not better than, any rhyme of mine .... and the rest can be GOOGLE'd Official portraits of Erik's two JTA/JAL "Jinbei Jets" .... Thanks everybody! Initially I was hesitant about doing those because of their complexity, but Mark managed to talk me into it Much more subdued is this Emery Worldwide DC-10-30F from 2001 representing N47816, a companion to the earlier -10F now available.

.... it's something I seldom do (or rather I don't like doing .... simply because I prefer to try'n ensure our painters are "unmolested" and left at liberty to reproduce "whatever appeals to them"), however, on this occasion it really paid off .... in respect of Darren's earlier request, finding excellent/large scale references for both liveries .... and then (and this's what really clinched this particular deal) .... "Erik's willingness to try'n please and which is equally supported by his apparently infinite artistic talents" too .... Mark C AKL/NZ
