"NO" .... you should be getting perfectly smooth sound with all our soundpacks.
Sound on my system is very smooth .... as it is also on the many other systems I've used here with other folk.
If you're not getting smooth sound (there should not be any audio steps at all) then that's likely a driver, or sound card issue on your system .... especially if you do not have a dedicated soundcard and are dependant upon an on-board sound chip which might struggle to give you the best audio quality.
