Hello guys, Ben's directed me here as I have a request for a repaint of the HJG DC-8-73 into the new NASA colours.
I have downloaded, and throughly enjoy flying the current one you have, but I notice it is out of date.
Any chance of a new repaint for it, in the black/yellow/white livery, with the name "Col Edwin W Lewis"
Many Thanks In Advance, Chris Globe Webmaster, UKMIL

History is never "out of date".
The NASA livery we currently host for our DC8-72 model was the version used towards the late 1990's.
It would be helpful if you will kindly post here some images relating to this apparently newer variation NASA DC8-72 livery .... and we'll see what happens in the future.

History is never "out of date". Of course not, I didn't mean it that way, call it a bad choice of words! I'll rephrase it: The scheme you have hosted is not the current livery, as worn by the aircraft (Better?) jimhalinda has beaten me to the images I had found, but I'll try and locate more if you need them.

I realise that .... of course ! ;D Thanks or those images Jim Always good to have plenty of references .... so .... if you do locate more then please post the links here. Of course I make "NO PROMISES" these will actually result in a repaint. Any subject has first got to appeal to one of our staff to tackle .... but .... at least seeing images assists them making that critical "GO/NO GO" decision. Mark C AKL/NZ

I might take this one up when I get back from my buisness trip this week. I haven't painted a DC-8 yet, and this seems like an easy enough one to start with.
Cheers, Gary

I haven't yet looked at your image links, but, I very much doubt we'll realise a custom model with any changes beyond the configuration of our standard DC8-72 model. Dee WALDRON (our DC8 projects manager) has basically retired from FS modelling now, but, continues supporting us anyway. So .... "IF" there are differences between the actual realworld aircraft and our standard DC8-72 model then any repaint we did of this NASA subjet would only be "REPRERSENTATIONAL" of the actual aircraft .... just for the sake of the livery ! A similar thing occurred recently in relation to our following US NAVY EC24 (DC8-54F) .... For our version of this particular aircraft to be absolutely authentic it would require substantial model edits .... which we can't at this time provide. Therefore what we offer here is once again "REPRESENTATIONAL" of the actual aircraft .... as is also our BOEING ASW B720-B product as well. Unfortunately we're occasionally forced to make these compromises in the case of historically significant aircraft and in the absence of custom models. Fortunately the above 2 instances are however the only examples I'm aware of in our entire inventory where we've needed to take such liberties. Mark C AKL/NZ

It's a couple of lumps and bumps on the rear fuselage and wing, not too bothered, and I understand completely, as I say, they're removable, so they'll just have to be in the removed state!
Thanks once again for looking into this!
